It was an event full of great competition and plenty of eyes were on some of the more talented players in the state. From college coaches to plenty of parents and just fans, everyone in attendance got to see a show throughout the afternoon and into the evening on Sunday. One thing that stood out to me during the event was the young talent on display from Guthrie. In fact, they had a trio of players from the 2024 class that shined on Sunday. Stay tuned for more coverage from the Expo, but for now, take a look at the 2024 trio from Guthrie.

Our first Guthrie prospect was actually the last one out of the three that we got a chance to see on Sunday and that’s when the light went off.

stood out to me during one of the games as a physical guard who could also play a little forward considering his physical style and body type. Then when we checked the roster and saw yet another Guthrie player from that 2024 class, the light bulb went off that the Blue Jays have a legitimate trio coming from that 2024 class. For Clark, he might have been the best of the bunch when you include his abilities on offense and defense. The next two players were certainly just as talented but they definitely favored either offense or defense. Clark appears to be the complete player who can get it done on either side of the ball.

. When we first got a chance to see Morgan up close during one of his games in the afternoon, we were impressed by his shooting ability. He was filling it up from long range and was showing a good touch on the shot. The more we watched throughout the afternoon, it was apparent that Morgan was much more than just a shooter as he was acting as the primary ball handler and was a good floor general from the point guard position. As mentioned above with Clark, Morgan appears to be a really good option on the offensive side of the ball and he clearly has a few teammates who can pick up the slack on defense. We were really impressed by Morgan’s ability to run the offense and while the first thing that stood out was his shooting ability, he also takes care of the ball and made some nice passes that led to easy buckets for his team.

immediately caught our attention by playing incredibly tough defense and setting up his teammates coming off turnovers. The defensive side of the ball is what really stood out to us about Benford. He has a similar physical style as Clark where he could be a guard/forward combo and become more of a bruiser during the high school season. With the combination of Clark and Morgan doing what they do on offense and then including Benford in the mix on the defensive side of the ball, Guthrie has a young trio with plenty of potential to lead Guthrie for the next few years.
