The 2022 point guard class is filled with talent, but the available pool just got a little smaller with [player_tooltip player_id="850662" first="Will" last="Richardson"]’s commitment to Fordham. The group still has a lot of promise who should make an impact at the next level. Here are the top available point guard prospects in the 2022 class.

[player_tooltip player_id="850683" first="Julian" last="Brown"], 6’1 Bergen Catholic

Brown may play primarily off the ball for the Crusaders, but he projects as a lead guard at the next level. The 6’1 guard has a quick release on his jumper and can knock down triples in bunches. Brown is more than just a shooter as he can also put the ball on the floor and finish around the basket. He is an underrated passer and is a strong rebounder for a guard his size. Brown is a scoring lead guard prospect whose shooting should get him early floor time next season.

[player_tooltip player_id="901941" first="Elijah" last="Perkins"], 6’3 Camden

Perkins will most likely play off the ball for the High, but he should get some minutes running the offense in 2021-22. The lanky 6’3 guard is a big-time athlete who explodes off the floor to finish above the rim. Perkins has a good handle and a quick first step, allowing for him to get past his defender in the half court. He is a solid passer and can defend both backcourt spots. Perkins is an athletic, two-way guard who will make an impact at the next level due to his ability to defend.

[player_tooltip player_id="850675" first="Isaiah" last="Griffin"], 5’11 Patrick School

Griffin is in a good situation with the Celtics as he will have the ability to play on and off the ball this season. The 5’11 guard has a good shooting stroke and sets his feet before he shoots. Griffin moves well off the ball and can shoot either off the dribble or catch. He can also break his defender down off the bounce and run the offense effectively in the half court. Griffin’s shooting ability is something that will help his stock in a big way this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="901943" first="Dionte" last="Johnson"], 6’0 Patrick School

Johnson has been an integral part of the Celtics’ success over the last two seasons and should be once again in 2021-22. The 6’0 floor general has a good handle and does not get sped up by on-ball pressure in the half court. Johnson knows how to finish around the basket and does not mind drawing contact. He is a tough on-ball defender and can make open jumpers on the perimeter. Johnson is a captain for the Patrick School and his leadership will be on full display this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="933737" first="Everton" last="Browne"], 6’0 St. Benedict’s

Browne is part of a loaded Grey Bees’ backcourt, but he will still be able to put his game on display. The 6’0 guard is a sniper from distance as he can get hot from distance in a hurry and has a quick release on his shot. Browne is more than just a shooter as he can also run the offense smoothly and does not make many poor decisions with the ball in his hands. He is a good finisher around the basket and is an underrated defender. Browne’s ability to play on and off the ball is something that will help his stock in a big way this season.
