2022 6-1 [player_tooltip player_id="870187" first="Simeon" last="Cottle"] – Tri-Cities

Kennesaw State is getting a high IQ guard that has a winning pedigree. While Cottle doesn’t jump off the court at you physically when you first see him, it doesn’t take long to see how easy the game comes to him. He manipulates defenses and is a very good defender.

2023 6-2 [player_tooltip player_id="598781" first="David" last="Thomas"] – Eagle’s Landing

One of the best guards in the state, [player_tooltip player_id="598781" first="David" last="Thomas"] led Eagle’s Landing to a state championship as a sophomore. He’s a three-level scorer with an unstoppable motor. He rebounds, facilitates and locks up defensively.

2023 6-2 [player_tooltip player_id="957135" first="Jaquez" last="Akins"] – Forest Park

A multi-sport athlete, Akins has the build of a running back with elite ball handling. He’s a multidimensional scorer that can take over games.

2023 6-1 [player_tooltip player_id="948820" first="Kory" last="Mincy"] – Tri-Cities

After a breakout season at Luella, [player_tooltip player_id="948820" first="Kory" last="Mincy"] jumped ship and landed at Tri-Cities. Mincy’s quickness with the ball and pull-up jumper make him tough to defend. He’s an opportunistic defender that can also make plays as a passer.

2023 6-2 [player_tooltip player_id="820312" first="Jaylen" last="Sanford"] – Jones County

[player_tooltip player_id="820312" first="Jaylen" last="Sanford"] is sneaking into the picture as one of the better guards in the state. He averaged 16.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.8 steals and 1 block as a dynamic do-everything playmaker.

2024 5-10 [player_tooltip player_id="1145101" first="Camryn" last="Perkins"] – Warner Robins

[player_tooltip player_id="1145101" first="Camryn" last="Perkins"] could be on a similar path to that of [player_tooltip player_id="870187" first="Simeon" last="Cottle"]. Perkins is a smaller guard, but his high IQ and court vision help him dissect defenses. As he gets more comfortable hunting his shot, watch out.
