August 30th-31st Justin Vargas and I put on the 5th annual Southwest Basketball Camp at the beautiful Phhacility in Phx, AZ.

66 players from Arizona and Texas battled it out. 8 teams with 8-9 players each.

Each team played 5 games with a possible All-Star game. The All-Star games lived up to the hype with many coaches walking away impressed with what they saw. The younger talent was pretty obvious.

We take a look at each teams players.

Here was Team Oregon State:

Top-20 All-Star game

[player_tooltip player_id="1183369" first="DeJuan" last="Allen Jr"] Tolleson

A big man who really runs the floor. He has good speed for a power forward and uses a big motor to rebound and block shots. He can score on layups, floaters and hook shots with his back to the basket.

Top-40 All-Star game

[player_tooltip player_id="1196528" first="Jesus" last="Almaraz"] Tolleson

A physical inside scorer who is very efficient in the paint. He can block shots in his area and closes out to shooters. He is an elbow and in type who is a banger to board. His physicality makes his game go and brings his hard hat in every contest.

[player_tooltip player_id="1277846" first="Triston" last="Delgado"] Tolleson

A natural combo guard is a good passer and plays a smart floor game. He can hit the catch-3 and is quick getting downhill. He can score through contact as he gets into the lane with his burst.

[player_tooltip player_id="1183311" first="Javarion" last="Hogan"] Tolleson

‘Vari’ is a 3pt gunner who can pull-up from mid-range and will change speeds to get downhill and use the floater. He is a little of a volume shooter but can rattle them off quickly.

Top-60 All-Star game

[player_tooltip player_id="1183402" first="Kylen" last="Mamon"] Tolleson

A long and athletic combo guard. He plays the passing lanes well with his length and can finish off difficult shots in the paint. He can hit the deep-3 with some success and he brings good energy on both sides of the court.

[player_tooltip player_id="1275053" first="Santino" last="Weimer"] Phhoenix Prep

An undersized scoring guard transferred over from Millennium. He has a quick handle and makes catch-3’s with range. He drives to the cup with his handle and can score it among the trees. His quickness and skill pop off the screen.

[player_tooltip player_id="1275052" first="Noah" last="Sowunmi"] PV (Pictured)

A young sophomore transferred in from South Carolina and shows nice promise. He dunks the ball very easily and is an active defender using his hands in space. He can block shots and moves without the ball. He uses a decent handle to get downhill and is a sneaky good passer.

[player_tooltip player_id="814518" first="Ray" last="Greer"] Tolleson

A super fast defensive lead guard who can score. He has the catch-3 and uses a quick burst to get to the rim. He makes plays for others and will sit down and defend using his lateral quickness.
