The Prep Hoops Iowa Top 250 is coming to Ankeny on September 18. As always, the gym will be packed with college talent, scouts, and college coaches. Here we take a look at seven more of the top players from the Class of 2024 who have already registered to compete!

Wings

SF [player_tooltip player_id="1171695" first="Matthew" last="Noll"] (Heelan)

A sharpshooter with good size, Noll had about as good a summer as anyone in the state, routinely posting huge games with Martin Brothers. We’ll be looking forward to seeing how his all-around offensive game is developing.

SF [player_tooltip player_id="1256298" first="Nolan" last="Cogdill"] (Ballard)

A long and lanky 6-5/6-6 wing, Cogdill impressed on the defensive end when we saw Ballard play at the Winterset Shootout in June. He’ll be relied upon to be an offensive threat for the Bombers this season, and that’s what we’ll be looking at next weekend.

SF [player_tooltip player_id="1171693" first="Cade" last="Courbat"] (Cedar Falls)

A 6-6 forward who can score inside and out, Courbat handles it well and is a great finisher around the rim. The younger brother of Northern Iowa forward [player_tooltip player_id="796099" first="Chase" last="Courbat"], Cade has a bit more of an offensive game than Chase had and could emerge as a big-time player for the Tigers this season.

SF [player_tooltip player_id="1171685" first="Derek" last="Weisskopf"] (Williamsburg)

An athletic, slashing wing coming off a productive freshman season and great summer with Martin Brothers, Weisskopf could be one of the best pure scoring threats in the gym next weekend. If he can continue to tighten up his handle, he could become one of the state’s elite scoring threats as early as this winter.

SF [player_tooltip player_id="1171681" first="Jonovan" last="Wilkinson"] (Roland-Story)

A 6-3/6-4 wing with length, Wilkinson is a good athlete who runs the floor hard and looks to score in transition. He rebounds well and has a good-looking jumper, which he pairs with a quick first step and developing handle that he uses to get to the rim.

Bigs

PF [player_tooltip player_id="1171699" first="Ja’Vion" last="Bell"] (Des Moines Lincoln)

A key part of the youth movement going on at Lincoln, Bell is an athletic 6-4/6-5 forward who runs the floor and finishes effectively around the rim. He crashes the glass hard on both ends of the floor and is developing a bit of a handle.

C [player_tooltip player_id="1171691" first="Anthony" last="Gott"] (Davenport Central)

A 6-7 big with great size and length, Gott played sparingly for the Blue Devils varsity team last year, but is brimming with potential. He’s a good rim protector and rebounder who can also stretch the floor. Look for him to become one of Central’s best players as a sophomore.
