There was a good number of younger players at the event that showed their potential. Here are a few who, juding on their performance at Flight Hankamp, are going to be stars.
Dominic Lynch
I think that Lynch is just at the tip of the iceberg. He flashed some real skill on the perimeter and could develop into a difference maker. Lynch will be an interesting watch next season.
Caleb Rudd
Rudd is a talented young lead guard. Parma Western may have a gem waiting in the wings. He was solid with the ball and made high percentage plays. Rudd seemed to understand how a true lead guard goes about winning games.
Jake Stephens Jake Stephens 6'3" | CG Chelsea | 2024 State MI
All the tools are there for Stephens. He’s a solid all around athlete and has some versatility in his game. Stephens can play on or off the ball and at 6’2″, I think he’s got a couple more inches in him. He could legitimately end up sliding to the next level at either spot.
Connor Walsh Connor Walsh 6'2" | SF Mattawan | 2024 State MI
The Mattawan wing could be headed for a breakout season, plus some. He’s a strong and mentally tough kid who wasn’t afraid to match up against top notch upperclassmen. Walsh played bigger than his 6’2″ listed height would indicate.
Ian Williams Ian Williams 6'0" | PG South Lyon East | 2024 State MI
I was really excited to watch Williams play and he did nothing but confirm my beliefs. The young man has a really nice upside and is an underclassmen that college coaches will want to keep an eye on. He flaunted a variety of dribble moves that he used to draw defenders. When the defense closed in, he kicked to shooters and dished to scorers.
