Saturday kicks off one of the last individual camps before the high school basketball season. The Top250 Expo will have 240+ players from all four high school eligible years and the entire state. We’ll have some amazing talent on the court. Here are 11 players I’m excited to watch in Winter Haven.

The Auburndale duo is brimming with talent that can succeed in a camp setting. Knaggs is a quick, athletic scoring guard with little wasted movement. I watched him score 25 points against FSUS. Turner is a big 6’8 forward with a nice handle for his size. He’s adding range to his jumper and rebounds well for his position. UCF recently checked in to see the team practice.

[player_tooltip player_id="956785" first="Josiah" last="Sabino"]

Sabino garnered heavy minutes for powerhouse E1T1 this summer. The Jacksonville State commit did a lot of his scoring in transition this summer. At 6’4 the Orange Park guard has the size to create mismatches galore in a camp setting.

[player_tooltip player_id="814923" first="Derrick" last="Mitchell"]

Mitchell has the chance to be one of the most versatile forwards in the 240 player camp. He’s 6’5 with varsity experience playing in the post and on the wing. His athleticism, transition play, and ability to knock down outside shots are all skills that shine in camps.

[player_tooltip player_id="1055578" first="Asa" last="Newell"]

Newell is a gifted shooter with 6’8 size. With him only being a 2024 prospect, his potential is as high as any player in Florida’s 2024 class. What he does here will be a precursor to an anticipated sophomore year.

[player_tooltip player_id="1065462" first="Bennie" last="McDuffie"] ll

Speed kills, and [player_tooltip player_id="1065462" first="Bennie" last="McDuffie"] is the executioner. He’ll be able to carve up loose defenses that most camps tend to have. While watching him play at FABC camp in June, he got deep in the paint, making plays with his driving gravity, and finishing with floaters.

[player_tooltip player_id="814550" first="Dylan" last="James"]

The 6’8 forward has seen an explosion in recruitment since April. At Nassir Little Camp in August, he battled [player_tooltip player_id="709236" first="Jayden" last="Hastings"] to a near standoff. James is my early pick to land on an all-camp team thanks to a growing offensive skill set.

[player_tooltip player_id="1295946" first="Aiden" last="Jones"]

Jones is already on my radar as a top shooter out of the 200+ campers. He’ll benefit from the kick outs that are bound to happen in a camp where players try to make plays. When the ball hits his hands, he’ll be a dangerous pull up threat.

[player_tooltip player_id="812623" first="John" last="Gamble"]

Gamble’s already cemented himself as a division 1 prospect. Currently ranked in the top 25 of a talented 2023 class, Gamble is going to bring size and shotmaking to the guard group. Look to see explosive plays and a nice scoring package from Gamble on Saturday.

[player_tooltip player_id="1060179" first="Mason" last="Brown"]

I first saw Brown as a defensive specialist for a Santa Fe team that made it to the state final. Not only will he be able to show off that side of his game but what he’s been working on offensively. This will be a great preview to see what he can do for his team during his junior year.

[player_tooltip player_id="829459" first="Krishen" last="Atwal"]

Atwal’s blend of shooting and inside presence at 6’6 will make him great in a camp setting. As a guy that can spot up from the wing or the corner and knock down shots with consistency, he’ll find his scoring opportunities while guys look to create. He’ll have plenty of chances to rebound and score off putbacks.
