Turner announced that he’ll head closer to his home in Florida when he attends the University of Central Arkansas. A traditional post prospect, Turner is a load in the post and does his best to finish everything around the rim with authority. He uses his frame and lower-body strength to carve out space in the paint, does a good job of doing his work early to establish position, and has excellent hands. He’s got an array of post moves, soft touch over either shoulder, and does an impressive job running the floor. Defensively, he’s a big presence in the paint and has proven to be a high level rebounder. He moves his feet well, does a good job of walling up, and doesn’t take himself off the floor with foul trouble. He’s a nice pick up for Central Arkansas and has the chance to develop into a quality big in the ASUN.

The 6-8 senior power forward dominated the interior for Auburndale finishing with a double-double at 13 points and 15 rebounds in last night’s 56-37 win over McKeel Academy. Turner has shown all season long he is a three-level scorer and also can impact the game in a variety of ways.

Turner simply dominates the paint at the high school level and actually displayed impressive dribbling skills to get to the foul line or finish at the rim. He also showed off his sneaky vision with good passes to the block for open layup opportunities. Turner is an interesting prospect in that he has plenty of room to develop his game but has limited competition in the area because of his size.
