While we’ve been updating our rankings and breaking down content on those, we decided to take a look at some of the best specialists in different areas of the state. Today, we take a look at part two of some of the top shooters in the NOVA area.

[player_tooltip player_id="999638" first="Jamie" last="Kaiser"] | 6’4” WG | Bishop Ireton ’23

Kaiser is one of the best athletes in the state as he is a three sport star with offers in multiple sports, and he’ll transfer to Bishop Ireton after spending his last few years at Lake Braddock. The 6’4” wing is a lethal shooter off the catch and can make shots from all over the arc and on the move, and he’s athletic too allowing him to attack closeouts and finish above the rim. He can fill it up with the best of them, and his deadly accuracy from deep is a big reason he’s so highly sought after already.

Marvin Brimmage | 6’2” CG | Bishop Ireton ’23

Brimmage is an up and comer for a talented Ireton group that will make a deadly combo with Kaiser as outside threats. He’s a player who can play on the ball and make plays for others but he may be even better off the ball as he can spot up and make shots consistently, and has great form and a quick release from deep. He has no wasted motion in his jumper, he can create space off the bounce and he plays with a good motor on both ends.

[player_tooltip player_id="1049868" first="Justin" last="Boggs"] | 6’2” CG | Paul VI ’23

Boggs comes to PVI from St. Andrew’s on the other side of DC and the timing couldn’t have been perfect for both groups. The 6’2” combo is coming off of a great summer with Boo Williams E16 group and Paul VI sports a young roster that is full of young playmaking guards and raw bigs and wings with upside, but need another experienced guy to knock down shots on the perimeter. Boggs is a lights out shooter that can play on or off the basketball, he has deep range and a quick release off the catch or off the bounce and he has great confidence as a shooter and a playmaker.

[player_tooltip player_id="1232158" first="Doyle" last="Brown"] | 6’1” CG | Centreville ’23

Brown was a big part of Centreville’s run to the state championship last year and he will take over as the go-to guy for them heading into his junior season. He’s a combo that can do a little bit of everything on both ends of the floor including lock up defensively and attack and make plays for others, but he really thrives when he’s in rhythm and can let it go from deep. He has a quick release and is able to get his feet set on the move, he can create space off the bounce and he shoots it at a very consistent rate.

[player_tooltip player_id="999655" first="Alex" last="Bokman"] | 6’3” WG | Freedom South-Riding ’23

Bokman is one of NOVA’s most underrated players and he’s emerged as one of the top shooters in Loudoun County. The 6’3” wing has good size and is always shot ready, he has extreme confidence in his ability to let it fly and knock it down and he can attack closeouts and make shots in the midrange as well. He’s a smart player who knows how to work to get open and he will almost always hurt you from deep.

[player_tooltip player_id="1259620" first="Darren" last="Harris"] | 6’6” WG | Paul VI ‘24

PVI always seems to come away with a freshman that looks like they’ll be one of the top players in the DMV, and last year it was Harris that showed that potential. He’s a big wing who has very deep and effortless range, he can step into it and knock it down and he can come off of screens and get set and he has great form with a pure stroke from pretty much anywhere around the three-point line. With his size and the way he also scores from multiple levels, it’s no wonder he’s already getting recruited at a very high level.
