An efficient 6-7 big man, Kirkman was one of the most productive 2023s in the state last year, averaging 18.6 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 4.3 blocks a game. He's coming off a great summer with the Iowa Barnstormers, and should be garnering some Division II interest with his ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor.

2.) 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="1158468" first="Ethan" last="Davis"] (Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont) - 10.1

An efficient 6-7 big man, Davis shot nearly 59% from the floor last year. He attacks the offensive glass hard, pulling down four offensive boards a game, which can lead to some easy buckets.

3.) 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="1235028" first="Klay" last="Seehase"] (Sumner-Fredericksburg) - 10.0

Another 6-7 big who uses his size and length to his advantage on both ends of the floor, Seehase pulled down nearly four offensive rebounds a game last year for the Cougars, which certainly contributed to his 52.2% from the floor.

4.) 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="1158441" first="Carson" last="Lienau"] (Jesup) - 9.7

At 6-4, Lienau is perhaps a bit undersized for a traditional big, but he plays with a relentless motor and he uses his big, physical frame to his advantage, bullying smaller defenders and getting them out of his way when boxing out. He was nearly as proficient on the offensive glass (4.4) as defensive (5.2) last year.

5.) 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="1158415" first="Eric" last="Mulder"] (Pella Christian) - 9.5

One of the highest risers in the state this summer, Mulder, a 6-9 big man, put together a really strong showing with Kingdom Hoops, leading to a Division I offer from IPFW. A mobile big who runs the floor, protects the rim, and rebounds at a high level, he'll be impossible to stop for 2A teams this winter.

6.) 2023 [player_tooltip player_id="1167698" first="Jacob" last="Hargens"] (Sioux Central) - 9.4

An athletic and physical 6-2 wing, Hargens also found himself on the leading returning scorers list after putting up 19.3 points a game last year. He uses his athleticism to his advantage, getting rebounds that he probably shouldn't be able to get to.

7.) 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="1235014" first="Durant" last="Van Dyke"] (PCM) - 9.1

Van Dyke nearly averaged as many rebounds as points (9.5) last season, and he stuffed the stat sheet for the Mustangs, also contributing 2.4 assists and 2.5 blocks a game as a junior.

8.) 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="1235043" first="Drew" last="Kelley"] (Central Springs) - 8.4

The Panthers won just three games last year, but Kelley was a standout with his rebounding and passing (4.0 assists a game). He's not a big scorer (6.2 points a game), rather making an impact in other areas of the game.

9.) 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="1234970" first="Wil" last="Lugar"] (Cherokee) - 8.2

A do-it-all forward, Lugar led the Braves in scoring, rebounding, assists, and blocks last season. He can score from all three levels, and he does a great job utilizing his skill set to pull down defensive rebounds and lead the break.

The best player on 2A's best team last year, Van Essen was one of the most efficient players in the state as a junior, posting 59-55-79 shooting splits. A versatile 6-4 forward, he does a great job rebounding inside and outside of his area, using his strong hands to snatch rebounds away from opposing players.
