Continue ReadingThis past weekend a significant number of the top grassroots teams opened the July live period by traveling all over the east coast to participate in multiple events across a five day period. From Augusta, South Carolina to Manheim, Pennsylvania, 15U squads from southeastern PA took to the court against some of the most competitive teams on the circuit. To say that 15U teams from this region held their own is an understatement.
Below is the second installment of the Summer 2021 southeastern Pennsylvania’s 15U grassroots teams Top 10 rankings. Spoiler alert: a new team makes their ranking debut in the No. 5 spot.
- Philly Pride National UAA: Entering this past weekend, Philly Pride National UAA had gone 6-2 in their last 8 games (all against high level national competition). At the Spooky Nook Jam Fest this group “played up” in the 16U age group and came home with a 2-1 record. Fazl Oshodi Fazl Oshodi 6'3" | CG Friends Central | 2024 State PA and Ryan Williams Ryan Williams 6'3" | SG Malvern Prep | 2024 State PA provided dynamic backcourt play. Williams has quickly become one of the most talked about 2024 prospects on the July circuit. Athletic wing Jeremiah White Jeremiah White 6'6" | PF Imhotep Charter | 2024 State PA continues his assault on opponents at both ends of the floor.
- Team Final EYBL: After going 3-0 “playing up” at the Hoop Group Summer Jam Fest, Team Final traveled to South Carolina for Nike EYBL’s marquee event – the Peach Jam. Against elite national competition Team Final 15U racked up a 6-2 pool play record. TF received outstanding guard play from Moses Hipps Moses Hipps 6'4" | SG AZ Compass Prep | 2024 State AZ (averaged 15 points per run on the strength of 57.5% shooting from deep). Robert Wright III Robert Wright III 6'0" | PG Montverde Academy (FL) | 2024 State #35 Nation FL , Michael Jones, Elijah Brown and Mike “Deuce” Jones all made major contributions as well.
- K-Low Elite: In the 15U platinum division of the Spooky Nook Jam Fest, this squad defeated Role Models Elite and a very good NY Gauchos team before falling to the NY Jayhawks in the semifinals. - Team Final Red HGSL: Team Final Red had a tough go of it (1-2) at the Spooky Nook Jam Fest and thus they drop one spot to No. 4 in our rankings. This past weekend’s struggles may be because the coaches are trying to blend in several new players with standouts David Fridia David Fridia 6'6" | PF Allentown Central Catholic | 2024 State PA and Jake West Jake West 6'1" | PG William Penn Charter | 2025 State #193 Nation PA . 6’3” lights out 3-point shooter Isaac Dye (Texas transplant headed to State College Area HS.) has only been with the team for two weeks. Despite these lineup challenges, TFR still boasts a 7-4 record in their last 11 games and we really like the overall talent level on this roster.
- Philly Pride Select: This past weekend at the Spooky Nook Jam Fest this high level roster went 4-0 and captured the 15U Gold division hardware. We have had an eye on this squad for some time and they finally broke through with a ‘chip win and thus into our rankings. Ultra-quick floor general Kaydin Ford Kaydin Ford 5'10" | PG Abington Friends | 2024 State PA and Conestoga HS (PA) standout Brendan Styer led the way this past weekend. The team is now 8-2 in their last 10 games.
