Several players used the second day, to showcase their talents. In this article, we take a look at the standouts from Day 2.
Ty Harrison, 6’3 Cedar City (2022) — Harrison showed crafty ball skills that allowed him to get to the rack off the bounce and create his own shot. Very efficient shooter to knock down the open three. Ty moved without the basketball well to create space for a shot within the offensive ball movement, which also created opportunities for his teammates to score.
Quinton Webb Quinton Webb 6'7" | PF Etiwanda | 2022 State CA-S , 6’6 Etiwanda (2022) — Webb is an electric player to watch due to his size and athleticism. Offensively, Webb moved well without the basketball and showed his soft hands with the ability to finish with either hand around the basket. Quinton was able to rebound out of his area, which then created quick outlets and pushed the tempo of the games. Defensively, his length and quickness allowed for chase-down blocks and altered shots.
Joaquin Strong, 6’7 St. Bernard (2022) — Skilled SF Strong showed his offensive abilities whether it was with his back to the basket or facing up with range beyond the arc. Very active without the basketball, which allowed for easy opportunities and putbacks on the offensive end. Strong showed off his quick bounce to finish above the rim through traffic all day.
Quincy Hills Quincy Hills 6'0" | PG Copper Hills | 2022 State UT , 6’0 Copper Hills (2022) — Quincy showed off his range beyond the arch on Day 2. A very consistent shooter when left open, but also has the ability to take his defender off the bounce to distribute in the half-court set. This heady guard understands when and where to take the shot or distribute the ball in the offense.
Cam Dyer, 6’5 Dixie HS (2023) — Dyer is a very athletic wing, that uses his physicality to power through shots around the basket and handled the ball well in the broken court. Would like to see Cam work on being a more efficient scorer off the bounce and with a pull-up jumper.
