2023 Rankings Update Taking a Look at the New Top-5

<p>The long awaited 2023 rankings update is finally here! This class of players has some real big time talent at the top of the class. We have also added many players to our 2023 rankings! Here are our picks for the top 5 players of the class of 2023 in Colorado</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="921100" first="Baye" last="Fall"]- Lutheran</strong></p> <p>Once again we find ourselves talking about the five star recruit [player_tooltip player_id="921100" first="Baye" last="Fall"]. Ever since Baye moved to Colorado from Senegal he has been the most highly recruited prospect from Colorado ever and for good reason. Baye’s defensive upside alone is enough for him to play at the next level but then you add together great athleticism, footwork, and a soft touch around the rim, all the hype is well deserved. Baye has also recently been shooting very well from mid range, and working on his three point shot, as his jumpshot keeps getting better it makes him more of a problem for opposing teams. As of right now Baye holds offers from Kansas, Arizona, Georgia, Georgetown, and Illnois, we are excited to keep tracking him as he makes his decision on what to do at the next level!</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="965778" first="Assane" last="Diop"]- Belleview Christian</strong></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="965778" first="Assane" last="Diop"], cousin of [player_tooltip player_id="921100" first="Baye" last="Fall"] is another high major D1 recruit in Colorado! Standing at 6’9 Assane, can play every position on the floor. He has great handles and an unmatched sense for the game. With good height he is able to look over defenders to find open teammates. Asssane is one of the best passers in the state and moves very well for someone that tall, this makes his upside one of the highest in the state. He is also able to use his size to bang inside and grab rebounds, which he can grab and go coast to coast with ease. Assane as a sophomore led his Belleview Christian team to a state championship and no one could slow him down as they won the championship game by double digits. Assane currently has offers from Memphis, Denver, and Illnois, he is another player we are excited to watch after his high school career.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="969431" first="Kadyn" last="Betts"]- Pueblo Central</strong></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="969431" first="Kadyn" last="Betts"] is a player who has been dominant against local and out of state competition. Kadyn is a power forward who has great size standing 6’7, he also has a broad frame he uses to move defenders out of his way. When posted up Kadyn has great footwork and some old school type big man moves that allow him to dominate inside the paint. Kadyn also has a very good set jumpshot from mid range and three point land, making him a potential stretch big at the next level. In addition Kadyn is a solid rim protector and uses his frame to box out and grab a plethora of rebounds. Kadyn’s recruitment is sure to pick up soon the way he has been playing!</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="965781" first="Marzouq" last="Abdur-Razaaq"]- Overland</strong></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="965781" first="Marzouq" last="Abdur-Razaaq"] is another player who has very high upside. He has great height for a wing standing at 6’6. He moves very well at that height and has a smoothness about his game where he is going to force the defender to play at his pace. Marzouq’s upside is very high as he has great height and does not mind grabbing but can also play at out on the perimeter. Off of the ball he moves very well, often finding lanes to cut and find easy layups or highlight dunks. Before his injury this season Marzouq showed us a little bit of what we can expect next year from him at Overland with a 32 point performance against Hinkley. We are very excited to see more of Marzouq once he gets healthy off of his injury!</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="921104" first="Christian" last="Hammond"]- Colorado Prep</strong></p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="921104" first="Christian" last="Hammond"], the younger brother of Colorado commit [player_tooltip player_id="608058" first="Julian" last="Hammond"], is similar to his brother as in the way they both know how to get buckets! Christian is a combo guard who does most of his damage as a shooting guard. From all three levels Christian is a deadly scorer, he has a high IQ when knowing whether or not to take a floater or attack the rim for layups. Christian is also an elite athlete who runs the floor very well and is a great slasher when cutting to the rim, he also is able to finish through contact when at the rim. Christian is a problem to prepare for and we are very excited to see compete next year on the Grind Session.</p>
