Chi-Town Tip Off: Parham’s Friday Impact Players

<p>Friday night kicked off the weekend at the Prep Hoops Chi-Town Tip Off!  Here are the top Impact Players from Friday nights games that I saw at M14!</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="821763" first="Jakobi" last="Heady"]  2021    Gods Gift</strong></p> <p>Started slow but picked it up as the game went on. Heady would go for 30 points using an array of moves to get to the rim. Jakobi was at his best when knocking down his mid-range jumper. Once he started making those the Gods Gift star never looked back. Heady got the gym buzzing with a couple exciting dunks.  One of the better finishes was a pass off the back boards in transition. Jakobi is definitely one of the better unsigned seniors looking for a good JUCO program.  </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Laquan Washington 2021 Gods Gift</strong></p> <p>Laquan had strong plays in his game. He broke defenders down off the dribble with strong crossover moves. Washington was excellent getting to the rim finishing through contact. With most of his points coming at the rim Laquan also shows he can shoot very well from the mid range. He’s definitely a kid who should get looks from JUCOs. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1215308" first="Dakari" last="Durham"] (2023) Illinois Outwork</strong></p> <p>Durham was a surprise impact player playing up a level. The thick bodied forward showed a lot of promise in a loss. Dakari has good hands around the rim. He challenges everything on the offensive boards and does an amazing job of finding contact when looking to score. Durham isn’t limited to the post he made a couple plays from both elbows making straight line drives using either hand and often making nice spin moves for finishes. He ended up with 18 points and several rebounds in the game we saw him.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Eliseo Gonzalez (2022) Illinois Outwork </strong></p> <p>Gonzalez is quick guard who made a quartet of three pointers in the matchup with Gods Gift. Eliseo is a small guard who gets shots off quick and he does it in flow of the game. Not a one-dimensional guard he finds teammates when his lanes closed up on him. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1210442" first="John" last="Riva"] (2022) Illinois Attack </strong></p> <p>Riva has a quick trigger and was able to get his shots off with guys hounding him majority of the game. John didn’t need much time to get his feet set with guys coming at him from all angles. Riva finished the game with 5 threes and lead all scorers with 20 pts </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Zaphian Scott  2022 Illinois Supreme </strong></p> <p>Zaphian is strong bodied guard from New York who plays really hard. He plays bully ball and gets to the rim at all cost. When I caught the game his team was down big and he made several plays to get to the free throw line to keep the game close. Scott hit a couple of threes at the end of the game even a banking buzzer beater to end it. He had 22 points in the loss. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Lavontae Pointer 2022     Next Level 24</strong></p> <p>The lightning quick PG was great on both ends of the court. He gets in the lane every time he touched the ball. On his paint touches he either scored layups or made smart decisions to find teammates.  On the defensive end Lavontae covers ground quick and forces players to speed up causing turnovers.  Pointer is a player to trace in the state of Indiana. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
