We are less than a week away from the end of the season. There have been some solid performers in the 5A class that have led their teams to victory and some that have come up just a bit short. Nonetheless, we acknowledge some of the class's top wings from a very entertaining season.

[player_tooltip player_id="965744" first="Blakeley" last="Stoughton"] – Regis

Stoughton continues to be one of the top standouts in the state that continues to go under the radar. On one of the top teams in the entire state that remains undefeated, their top player and leading scorer continues to pile it up. The 6’4 wing moves without the ball, does not force up shots, and lets the game come to him. Stoughton excels in iso situations as the silky smooth lefty blows by defenders for athletic finishes at the rim. He is a downhill runner with a confident mid-range pull-up. He shoots over smaller defenders, attacks the rim, and has an inside and out game. He’s averaging a team-high 18.1 points a game and also is aggressive on the boards this year at 5.3 rebounds a game. Stoughton is in contact with a few schools, but with the way that he is playing in his senior season, more schools should be after this rare lefty. Stoughton has shined.

[player_tooltip player_id="916971" first="Schafer" last="Reichart"] – Doherty

Reichart has worked extremely hard to get to the point that he is now, and now that he is here, he is embracing it. Reichart looks comfortable on the floor and does everything at his own pace. It is evident that he works on his game often as he has a great handle on the ball, consistently knocks down open shots with a quick release and smooth shooting stroke, and finishes well at the rim. Reichart runs the offense to perfection and can stand out in a fast-paced game as well as a slow it down and grind it out kind of atmosphere. He is a high IQ player who scores in bunches and is willing to give the ball up if that means making the right play. Doherty has been a team in and out of the Top-10 this season, and their senior captain is a big reason. The 6’3 is setting a career-high in points (17.3 ppg) and also has a team-high 7.3 rebounds to go along with it. Reichart just committed to play basketball at Colorado Christian next season, and the Cougars will be getting a resilient player that plays the right way.

[player_tooltip player_id="770425" first="Michael" last="Bennett"] – Lakewood

Bennett is one of the top athletes in the entire state competing at the Division I level next season. He is a track star that also happens to shine on the hardwood as well. The 6’2 combo-guard is a versatile player that also can step out on the wing where he looks most comfortable and let it fly. Bennett is a natural scorer that cannot be denied. He doesn’t mind taking tough shots as he is a creative scorer and a microwave option on a team that allows him to play freely. He has been the teams leading scorer for two years straight and looked to find a groove in his senior season. Bennett is averaging 19.1 points a game and also is a force on the boards (5.3 rpg). He has had a stellar high school career and was a player to watch this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="916968" first="Curtis" last="Stovall"] – Vista Peak

Stovall is a player with so much untapped potential, and his best days are ahead of him. But that does not take away from what he was able to accomplish this season. Stovall is a player who does a ton of things that do not pop up on the scoreboard. He might be best suited as a guard, but with other guars around him, he has moved onto the wings and not only plays the small forward position but also defends. Stovall has great energy and has contagious play. He’s a solid defender that gets out on the break and finishes as well.

[player_tooltip player_id="770404" first="Tyce" last="Baldwin"] – Fossil Ridge

Fossil Ridge has been on a tear this season, and Baldwin has been his usual self. Oklahoma Baptist University is getting one of the state’s top athletes and most explosive scorers. Baldwin has his team playing extremely well, and his 6’3 stature allows him to create mismatches offensively but to be a versatile scorer. Baldwin reads his teammates and reacts. He puts himself in positions to score, is comfortable with the ball in his hands, and finishes at the dunker's spot. He is dangerous in the open court and is up to 17.5 points a game, which is why the Sabercats are 12-1 on the year. He has been a player to watch and will have his team ready come playoffs but should be recognized for his strong season.
