2023 Rankings: A Look at the New Faces, Part III
There’s plenty of room for prospects in the 2023 class to grow. With that said, here’s a look at Part III of the New Faces in the 2023 Rankings, which takes a look at the prospects outside the Top 100.
No. 104 Ellis Williams Ellis Williams 6'1" | SG Henderson Collegiate | 2023 State NC
Williams was playing a solid role in the Henderson Collegiate rotation before his season was cut short due to injury. He’s an athletic 6-foot-1 guard that can fill it up from deep as well. Look for him to bounce back strong in the class.
No. 106 Zy’lee Bazemore Zy’lee Bazemore 5'8" | SG Bertie | 2023 State NC
Bazemore is a speedy guard that uses it to his advantage to create off the bounce and knock down shots on the perimeter. He’s got nice range and handles to go along with his playmaking skillset. He’s worth tracking this spring/summer.
No. 112 Luis Rivera Luis Rivera 6'5" | PF Triad Math & Science Academy | 2023 State NC
Rivera burst onto the scene with the Carolina Stars Basketball grassroots program with his ability to protect the paint and score around the rim. With grassroots season upon us, he’s a big body forward to watch at 6-foot-5.
No. 114 Patrick Tivnan Patrick Tivnan 6'8" | C Charlotte Catholic | 2023 State NC
Tivnan was a productive force in the frontcourt for Charlotte Catholic all season long and another prospect that turned heads with his mobility and size at 6-foot-7. He’s another forward prospect to keep an eye on in the class.
No. 121 Evan Ashemore Evan Ashemore 6'5" | SF JL Chambers | 2023 State NC
Ashmore got some reps on both the JV and varsity level this past season for Vance High School. He’s an explosive 6-foot-5 sophomore prospect that makes plays at the rim on both ends and can fill it up from deep when he’s in a rhythm.
No. 129 Stephon Jones Stephon Jones 5'11" | CG Rocky Mount | 2023 State NC
Jones was a productive face in the Rocky Mount backcourt alongside Jamal Townsend Jamal Townsend 6'0" | CG Northern Nash | 2023 State NC in 2020-21. He averaged 9.1 ppg, 2.9 apg and 2.2 rpg in the backcourt and should be a face to track with Team Trezz this spring/summer.
