The 2021 season is coming to a close with the final games happening on March 6. Players around the Garden State have been quietly putting up big seasons, especially in the Shore Conference. [player_tooltip player_id="901942" first="Ben" last="Roy"], [player_tooltip player_id="902736" first="Isaac" last="Hester"], [player_tooltip player_id="931028" first="Jack" last="Seidler"] and [player_tooltip player_id="901983" first="DJ" last="Thomson"] should all earn postseason group honors, but they are not the only ones with that potential. Here are the top Shore Conference sleepers who could make an All-Group team.

Jon Spatola, 5’7 PG Marlboro 2022

Seidler is the go-to guy in the Mustang offense, but Spatola has also been spectacular this season. The 5’7 guard plays with complete control when the ball is in his hands and has a knack for getting to the rim. Spatola is more than just a slasher as he can also knock down triples from behind the arc. He is a pesky on-ball defender and seems to play his best basketball when the competition gets tougher. Spatola has had a huge part in Marlboro’s success this season and it would not be a surprise to see him make an All-Group 4 team.

[player_tooltip player_id="1016643" first="Alex" last="Baker"], 6’4 PF Holmdel 2021

Baker should have been selected as an All-Group 2 performer last season and has played even better in his final varsity season. The 6’4 forward plays with good footwork around the basket and can finish through contact. Baker has a nice mid-range jumper and is an underrated passer. He fights for rebounds on both ends of the floor and is a good post defender. Baker has been an integral part in Holmdel’s success over the last two seasons and deserves to get recognized for his work.

[player_tooltip player_id="901949" first="Justin" last="Soranno"], 6’6 SF/PF Central Regional 2022

The Eagles are 6-2 on the season and Soranno is a big reason why. The 6’5 forward attacks the basket with a purpose and does not mind drawing contact on his way to the rim. Soranno shows a nice touch on his shot and is an underrated passer. He works hard for rebounds on both ends and uses his athleticism to make plays on the defensive end. Soranno has been an impact player for Central Regional all season and could end up with some postseason honors to show for it.

[player_tooltip player_id="1012961" first="Jack" last="Collins"], 6’5 SG Manasquan 2021

If Roy is Manasquan’s Batman, than Collins is Robin for this year’s team. The 6’5 wing has a sweet shooting stroke and is capable of getting hot from deep in a hurry. Collins is more than just a shooter as he can also put the ball on the floor and make plays when he gets into the lane. He is an active defender and is a strong rebounder for a wing. Collins has had a couple of big moments for Manasquan which should land him on the All-Group 2 Team.

[player_tooltip player_id="1017707" first="Jaxon" last="Baker"], 6’1 CG Barnegat 2021

The Bengals are 7-2 on the season as Baker’s all-around play has sparked the offense. The 6’1 combo guard is a knockdown shooter from distance with a quick release and a good shooting stroke. Baker can also get to the rim off the bounce and makes good passes in the half court. He plays with quick hands on the defensive end and is an underrated rebounder. Baker has been key for Barnegat in 2021 as he is looking to close out his varsity career on a high note.

Other Prospects to Watch:

[player_tooltip player_id="1013047" first="Savon" last="Myers"], 6’4 SF Manchester Township 2022

[player_tooltip player_id="929516" first="Connor" last="Walsh"], 6’5 SF Manasquan 2021

[player_tooltip player_id="929483" first="Colin" last="Farrell"], 6’1 SG CBA 2021

[player_tooltip player_id="900292" first="Sam" last="Fagan"], 5’10 PG Neptune 2021

[player_tooltip player_id="1141973" first="Jay" last="Silva"], 6’5 PF Southern Regional 2021
