The 2021 season has been full of exciting basketball especially in Group 2. Guards [player_tooltip player_id="901942" first="Ben" last="Roy"] and [player_tooltip player_id="850751" first="Dajuan" last="Wagner Jr"]. have been stellar this season, but they are not the only ones putting up big numbers. The forward group is full of talented players who are all jockeying for position on the All-Group team. Here are the top Group 2 forwards fighting to make the All-Group team.

[player_tooltip player_id="900364" first="Dominick" last="Barlow"], 6’7 SF Dumont 2021

Barlow will be joining the 2022 class as a postgrad, but his final season at Dumont cannot be overlooked. The 6’7 forward has been an absolute load on the offensive end with three 30-point games and only game under 20. Barlow is at his best attacking the basket as he is a big-time finisher above the rim and can draw contact on his way to the basket. He skies for rebounds on both ends of the floor and uses his length to altar shots on the defensive end. Barlow was Second Team All-Group 2 last year and should be on the first team this year.

[player_tooltip player_id="850508" first="Jerome" last="Brewer"], 6’6 SF Camden 2021

South Carolina commit [player_tooltip player_id="850504" first="Ta’Quan" last="Woodley"] joined Barlow on the second team, but Brewer also has a shot at making it this year. The 6’6 wing has a smooth offensive game as he can take his defender off the bounce and finish through contact. Brewer is more than just a slasher as he has a good release on his jumper and can score in the mid-range. He can defend multiple positions on the floor and is an underrated rebounder. Brewer and Woodley have both had good seasons for the top ranked team in the state, which should result in All-Group recognition.

[player_tooltip player_id="900363" first="Aidan" last="Kehoe"], 6’10 PF Pascack Hills 2021

The Cowboys are 9-0 on the season and Kehoe’s emergence down low is a big reason why. The 6’10 power forward has been a double-double machine this season with seven 20-10 games. Kehoe knows how to get position down low and has a nice touch around the basket. He has a good release on his free throws and uses his length to swat shots around the basket. Kehoe has been dominant all season long for Pascack Hills and should receive postseason honors.

[player_tooltip player_id="1016643" first="Alex" last="Baker"], 6’4 PF Holmdel 2021

The Hornets are 6-0 this season with the offense running through Baker down low. The 6’4 forward does not rush when he gets the ball down low and knows how to draw contact. Baker has a nice touch around the basket and can knock down mid-range jumpers. He is a solid post defender and fights for rebounds on both ends of the floor. Baker has been long overdue for All-Group recognition as he deserves to make the team in 2021.

[player_tooltip player_id="1013001" first="Antoine" last="Arnett"], 6’5 SF Sterling 2021

The Silver Knights have quietly amassed a 9-2 record this season behind Arnett’s play. The athletic 6’5 wing loves to finish above the rim, but is also capable of making shots through contact. Arnett can handle the ball on the perimeter and can knock down jumpers if given open space. He skies for rebounds on both ends of the floor and has the ability to defend multiple positions with his length and athleticism. Arnett is a talented forward prospect who has had a strong senior season for Sterling.

Other Prospects to Watch:

[player_tooltip player_id="900337" first="Toriano" last="Munford"], 6’5 SF Lincoln 2021

[player_tooltip player_id="933639" first="Ryan" last="Smith"], 6’6 SF/PF Robbinsville 2021

[player_tooltip player_id="1013047" first="Savon" last="Myers"], 6’4 SF Manchester Township 2022

Moshood Adebule, 6’3 SF/PF South Plainfield 2021

Cameron Downs, 6’4 SF/PF Pemberton 2022
