Tyson Commander Tyson Commander 6'4" | SG The John Carroll School | 2022 State #203 Nation MD | 6’4 | John Carroll
Overall ranking: No. 11
Positional ranking: No. 3
We’ve raved about Commander quite a bit since he hit the scene as a freshman and for good reason. The 6-foot-3 combo guard is one of the deadliest three-point shooters you’ll find in the 2022 class and can shoot it well beyond the arc. His left-handed release makes for a textbook jumper with great rotation on the ball on its way to the rim. Since his freshman year though, Commander has grown into his body and added significant athleticism to completely wipe away the “just a shooter” title. In today’s game that revolves around having players that can space the floor, Commander’s presence holds tremendous value.
Jordan Pennick Jordan Pennick 6'1" | CG Archbishop Spalding | 2022 State MD | 6’1 | Archbishop Spalding
Overall ranking: No. 34
Positional ranking: No. 6
Pennick is still flying under the radar despite having an outstanding summer with Team Choo. The 6-foot-1 combo guard is tough as nails when it comes to attacking the basket where his football side comes to light. Usually football players are known for having a downhill style of play, but Pennick can also get it done from mid-range and three. Especially on the catch from beyond the arc, Pennick can knock down multiple three’s in the blink of an eye. Defensively he can guard either guard position and even get away with defending wings at the high school level with his strength. He has active hands and always seems to be the first one on the floor for 50/50s.
Tre Green Tre Green 6'2" | CG Glenelg County | 2023 MD | 6’2 | Boy’s Latin
Overall ranking: No. 77
Positional ranking: No. 14
Green is another prospects that put together a solid summer with Team Choo. He has good size at 6-foot-2 and being a southpaw makes him more difficult to guard. Green is a good shooter from deep off the catch, but is at his best attacking closeouts with one or two dribbles and getting into his mid-range jumper. He can be a primary ball-handler and initiator of an offense in the half court as well. Green is a solid defender with good size and athleticism to defend either guard slot.
Samuel Ejindu Samuel Ejindu 6'1" | CG Glenelg Country | 2022 State MD | 6’1 | Glenelg Country
Overall ranking: No. 96
Positional ranking: No. 20
Ejindu is more of a scoring off-ball guard who looks to operate in isolation situations where he can break down his defender with an array of quick-twitch moves. There are times where he can get a little out of control or take shots out of the offense’s rhythm, but he’s also capable of hitting big shots even when contested. With the Dragons losing some key pieces from last year’s team, Ejindu would be one of the players expected to take on an increased role on both ends.
