Dale is the team to beat in this class. Top to bottom, they have a loaded roster and some of the best individual players in the state. They’ve started the season with four straight convincing wins. Cashion looked great early on, but faltered against Hooker, who comes in at #2. Hooker was in control, even leading by double digits, against Cashion and have looked dominant so far. Lookout for Pawnee who boasts one of the top scorers in the class in Gunnar Gordan with a great offensive attack. Class 2A is a very competitive class and each of the teams at the top could win it all. They have showed that they can compete, and beat, ranked teams from bigger classes.
CLASS 3A RANKINGS:
- Crossings Christian
- Millwood
- Christian Heritage Academy
- Adair
- Community Christian
- Hugo
- Metro Christian
- Star Spencer
- Beggs
- Oklahoma Christian School
Next teams in: Roland, Tishomingo, Eufaula
There’s a shakeup at the top of Class 3A and, in my opinion, #1 through #3 is a total toss-up. Crossings beat Millwood and CHA beat Crossings, giving all three teams a case for that number one spot. Crossings Christian has looked like one of the best teams in the state but struggled to score in the CHA Championship last weekend. Millwood is a team that will continue to get better as the season goes on and players have a real chance to gel. Watch out for Community Christian as they are one of the most underrated teams in the state. They were almost able to knock off powerhouse Heritage Hall and continue to beat teams in 4A and 5A. It should be noted that Beggs and Star-Spencer could both be in contention for the #1 spot, or at least a top five spot, but we have nothing to base that off of as each have yet to play a game. I’d expect both of those squads to be playing like state tournament teams come March.
