2022 Mid-Penn Conference Standouts Finale

Again, we sincerely apologize for this error.</em></span></p> <p>The 2020/21 Pennsylvania high school boys basketball season is finally underway and the action has been heating up across the Keystone State.</p> <p>It’s going to be an interesting season, just for the fact that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, concerns have arisen about whether it will get fully completed.</p> <p>Prep Hoops will continue to give you the best possible analysis on the best talent across the state including this article, the finale of a multi-part series of junior standouts in the Mid-Penn Conference.</p> <p><strong>Charlie Werner, PG/SG Cedar Cliff:</strong> Werner is a very talented combo guard, and the first thing that sticks out when watching his tape is his passing ability. He is very much a facilitator on the court and he’s pulled out some fantastic passes. He can also shoot the three well and is someone who varies his shot selection, not just settling for the deep three or a dribble drive into the lane for the tough two. He has a smooth mid-range shot and he is just an all-around fantastic guard. Werner, if he hasn’t turned heads yet already, will be turning more this season for Cedar Cliff.</p> <p><strong>Tyler Houser, C/PF Cedar Cliff:</strong> Houser has great size for a center and plays more of the traditional center role just watching back on film. This season will be one where he is going to expand his game to play more of that stretch forward/stretch five role because he’s shown glimpses of it and his agility is great. He backs down defenders well and is a strong defender. He can shoot the mid-range jumper, and don’t be surprised if he begins to shoot more from the outside. Houser, with his 6’9” frame is going to continue to cause havoc for opponents.</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1174217" first="Jack" last="Argento"], SF/PF Hershey:</strong> Argento has the perfect frame as a versatile forward, a 6’4”, 180-pound scoring machine. He has such an effortless shot and a very clean release, a very reliable and efficient scorer for Hershey. He possesses a high level of basketball IQ, something seen through his passing ability. He also just looks like he could slot in a college program right now. Watching Argento play, you can just tell the level of confidence he has when the ball is in his hands and he’s going to continue to be a major presence for Hershey this season.</p> <p><strong>Alec Angello, PG/SG Hershey:</strong> Angello shows a lot of potential as a fantastic combo guard. Looking at his film from 2019/20, he is great at drawing contact in the lane and getting into the paint. He is strong with the ball, especially off dribble drives down low. That has allowed him to score a lot in the middle and really take advantage of defensive mis-matches. On the defensive side of the ball, Angello is someone who is going to disrupt the flow of his opponents and mess up their offensive schemes, leading to bad passes and turnovers for Hershey fast breaks.</p> <p>Keep your eyes peeled for more Prep Hoops player profiles and previews as the 2020/21 Pennsylvania high school basketball season continues.</p>
