Class 4A – Region 1 Preview

<p>The Class 4A ranks across the state look to be very even. Lets take a look at first of 7 regions in Class 4A this season throughout the Palmetto State. </p> <p><strong><em>Predictions:</em></strong> </p> <p><strong>Travelers Rest HS - The Devildogs drop down from Class 5A after several seniors move on. </strong></p> <p><strong>Westside (Anderson) - The Rams will be right there to compete for a region championship this season.</strong></p> <p><strong>Walhalla HS - The Razorbacks are a bit of mystery this season. </strong></p> <p><strong>Easley HS - The Green Wave will surprise some folks on a given night. </strong></p> <p><strong>Pickens HS -</strong> <strong>The losing streak is over and the Blue Flames are looking to make some more progress this season</strong>.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><em><strong>Players to Watch in the Region:</strong></em> </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="976950" first="Aaron" last="Randolph"] (2021) - Westside HS (Anderson)  (Prep Hoops CO-Region Player of the Year) </strong></p> <p>Randolph helped the Rams to a (16-11) season last year. Randolph averaged 5.6 ppg and 3.5 rebounds last season. Randolph a left-handed wing player has a good shooting stroke from the perimeter. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="910051" first="Jacob" last="Brown"] (2022) - Travelers Rest HS (Prep Hoops CO-Region Player of the Year) (pictured on the front) </strong></p> <p>Brown a undersized post plays the game with his back to the basket. Brown will carve out space in the paint and don't mind playing on contact. Brown has a blue collar mentality and works for position from block to block. Brown has soft hands and isn't afraid to take a charge.</p> <p><strong>Jacari Hellams (2022) - Travelers Rest HS </strong></p> <p>Hellams is a physical post player in the paint for the Devildogs. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="865295" first="Kristian" last="Chapman"] (2023) - Easley HS </strong></p> <p>Chapman ran on the Grassroots Circuit with Next Level Elite. Chapman sees the floor well and looks to set up his teammates</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="865328" first="Caleb" last="Mills"] (2023) - Travelers Rest HS </strong></p> <p>Mills plays in the backcourt for his father here at Travelers Rest HS. </p>
