Sleeper 2022 Illinois Post Prospects

<p>Now we dive into our favorite sleeper prospects in the Illinois 2022 class at the post positions.  These are power forwards and centers that might be flying under the radar at this point, but definitely could emerge!</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="863630" first="Ethan" last="Ivan"] (Batavia)</strong></p> <p>Current Ranking: #41</p> <p>Ivan is a plus shooter that can knock down spot up shots.  Clean and easy release on his jumper.  We came away impressed with his ability to get on the glass for second chance points with his explosiveness off the floor.  Flashed improvements in his ball handling and slashing game.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="771553" first="Lance" last="Rodgers"] (Simeon)</strong></p> <p>Current Ranking: #43</p> <p>Rodgers is the next scholarship post player at Simeon.  He is an athletic big man that rebounds and swats shots.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="863629" first="Sam" last="Bradbury"] (Mattoon)</strong></p> <p>Current Ranking: #53</p> <p>Big bodied five man that has nimble footwork and touch around the basket.  Excellent area rebounder.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="925197" first="Eric" last="Locke"] (OPRF)</strong></p> <p>Current Ranking: #63</p> <p>Locke is up to 6’5” and he was a force this summer rebounding, rim running, and protecting the paint!</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="863610" first="Damarkus" last="Bean"] (Metro East Lutheran)</strong></p> <p>Current Ranking: #70</p> <p>Bean is an intriguing prospect with many projectable tools on both ends of the floor.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="996068" first="Luke" last="Koller"] (Mahomet Seymour)</strong></p> <p>Current Ranking: #72</p> <p>Face up four that can shoot it and has solid strength to rebound on the interior.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="925201" first="Sean" last="Paige"] (Proviso East)</strong></p> <p>Current Ranking: #73</p> <p>Strong left handed post that gets after it on the offensive glass and is efficient with his touches.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1048720" first="Wes" last="Hunt"] (Peoria Christian)</strong></p> <p>Current Ranking: #74</p> <p>Bouncy power forward that emerged this summer with his athletic pop!</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1048721" first="Elijah" last="Jointer"] (Mt. Carmel)</strong></p> <p>Current Ranking: #77</p> <p>Thick bodied post that can drill mid-range shots and showed flashes at the Illinois Wolves scrimmages.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1048722" first="Garrett" last="Bolte"] (Hinsdale South)</strong></p> <p>Current Ranking: #78</p> <p>Plus three point shooter.  Finishes dump off passes, runs the floor hard, and works well converting in the pick/roll.  Extremely efficient with his touches.  Excellent post defense.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1048723" first="Nickolas" last="Robinson"] (Kenwood)</strong></p> <p>Current Ranking: #79</p> <p>The 6’5” Kenwood four man is a long and lanky post with projectability.  Rim runner in transition, finishes in the pick/roll, and took his man off the bounce from the mid-post.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="863631" first="NJ" last="Benson"] (Mt. Vernon)</strong></p> <p>Current Ranking: #81</p> <p>Benson is a prospect we are very excited to evaluate this upcoming high school season.  Big bodied five man with upside that flashed last year in limited minutes.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1048727" first="Koen" last="Derry"] (Galesburg)</strong></p> <p>Current Ranking: #85</p> <p>The 6’6” forward has bounce to his game blocking shots defensively and playing above the rim on the offensive side.  Presents upside long term.</p>
