This expo gave several players the opportunity to showcase their skill set and also give viewers a chance to see the next wave of talent on the rise. Here are a few prospects that stood out most amongst the rest of the pack at the Top 250 Expo.
Myles Shields Myles Shields 6'3" | CG Tilton | 2022 TX – 6’3 – Shooting Guard – North Dallas Adventist Academy – 2021
His play really put his team over the top throughout the day, Myles Shields Myles Shields 6'3" | CG Tilton | 2022 TX was a great glue guy for his team. He’s a very well-round player that scored on all three levels and stayed active on both ends of the floor, jumping passing lanes, snagging rebounds, and cutting to the basket. Shields and Austin Benigni Austin Benigni 5'10" | PG The Woodlands Christian | 2022 State TX ’s game went together perfectly and they quickly established chemistry. When Austin drove Myles either cut or popped out to the corner where he was incredibly efficient. Shields made the most out of every scoring opportunity he had, anytime he put a shot up we all expected it to go in. Myles Shields Myles Shields 6'3" | CG Tilton | 2022 TX is such a gifted cutter, he consistently found a way to be in the right spot at the right time whether it was for a rebound, a layup off the cut, or getting a steal in the passing lane.
Elijah McBath – 6’0 – Point Guard – Denton Ryan – 2021
This highly skilled point guard is a quick-twitch dribbler and decision-maker with the ball in hand. Elijah’s a selfless teammate who always looked to pass first and keep his guys involved, he ran the offense well and found ways to create for others despite any type of situation he was placed in. Elijah even displayed good leadership qualities, he encouraged guys to shoot whenever he passed them the ball. Not only does he have surprisingly quick feet but he also has tremendous body control, McBath has the ability to physically overpower other point guards, he used his wide body well to his advantage by drawing contact, then he either finished with a layup or got the foul call. Senior guard, Elijah McBath, will be a player to watch out for this season.
Antoneo Pavia – 6’0 – Point Guard – South Oak Cliff – 2021
Unselfish pass-first point guard with the ability to deliver precise passes on a consistent basis. His vision and passing were the best aspects of his game. Antoneo’s natural feel for the game allowed him to stay a step or two ahead of the opponents. When the defense pressured him, he didn’t panic, he stayed under control, displaying good poise and patience while making the correct reads. Impressive ball-handler that doesn’t over dribble, knows how to keep the flow of the offense going and keep everyone involved. The Golden Bears have added a great piece to their rotation this season in Antoneo Pavia.
Malik Clinton – 6’1 – Guard – North Crowley – 2021
Malik Clinton showed a knack for scoring within the flow of the game while also setting the rest of his teammates up. Clinton is shifty with a good ability to look guys off on the drive, his deceptive eyes got the defense moving one way while he attacked the other way, displaying great decision making and the ability to read and react on the move.
