Group 3 had a strong group of teams with Moorestown, West Morris and Irvington all spending chunks of the season in the top 20. [player_tooltip player_id="900333" first="Rafael" last="Castro"] is an elite shot-blocker who is down to Providence, Dayton and Miami. Fairfield commit [player_tooltip player_id="900309" first="Christian" last="Cevis"] has been one of the top players in Group 3 over the last two seasons, leading the Wolf Pack offense. They are not the only top prospects in the group as there are a bunch of under the radar players ready to make an impact. Here are the top potential breakout performers in Group 3.

[player_tooltip player_id="1045681" first="Austin" last="Green"], 6’7 PF Timber Creek 2021

The Chargers were one of the top teams in Group 3 all season, but they have to replace their top four scorers from last season. Green had a solid junior campaign, but will be asked to step up in a big way. The 6’7 big guy has a nice touch around the basket and knows how to finish through contact. Green has a nice release on his jumper and his range extends out to the three-point line. Timber Creek should be in contention for a sectional title again with Green getting more touches down low.

[player_tooltip player_id="1016742" first="Jahmir" last="Payoute"], 6’4 SG Irvington 2023

The Blue Knights took home the sectional title last season, but they have to replace First Team All-Group selection [player_tooltip player_id="896623" first="Moses" last="Pierre"]. Payoute is a lanky wing prospect who has a good release on his jumper. The Patrick School transfer is more than just a shooter as he can put the ball on the floor. Payoute is an underrated rebounder and knows how to move his feet on the defensive end. Irvington needs a scorer to emerge and Payoute has the ability to do so.

[player_tooltip player_id="933048" first="Tristen" last="Guilloutte"], 6’7 C Westampton Tech 2023

Guilloutte had a solid freshman campaign, but will be tasked to shoulder a bigger scoring load with the graduation of [player_tooltip player_id="929683" first="Tyrese" last="Myrick"]. The 6’7 big man has a strong frame which he uses to finish through contact. Guilloutte plays with good footwork down low and has a nice touch around the basket. He is working on his range, which will make him a bigger threat on the offensive end. Westampton Tech should compete for a sectional title again with Guilloutte getting more touches down low.

[player_tooltip player_id="1013046" first="Malik" last="Fields"], 6’4 PF Neptune 2022

The Scarlet Flyers made a deep run in the Central Jersey Group 3 playoffs last season and they have a chance to do so again with Fields back down low. The 6’4 forward has a good touch around the basket and uses his strong frame to draw contact. Fields has a nice release on his free throws and rarely shuffles his feet in the paint. He is a tough rebounder and is a strong post defender. Neptune returns Monmouth commit [player_tooltip player_id="900292" first="Sam" last="Fagan"] and the increased role of Fields should lead to a good 2020-21 campaign.

[player_tooltip player_id="1050393" first="TJ" last="Robinson"], 5’10 PG Teaneck 2024

Robinson may only be a freshman, but he is ready to make an impact right away. The 5’10 guard is lightning quick with the ball in his hands and can blow by his defender. Robinson is more than just a driver as he has a nice release on his jumper and can bury triples in bunches. He is a smooth passer and moves his feet well on the defensive end. Teaneck had a tough 2019-20 season, but should have a bounce back year with Robinson leading the charge.

Other Players to Watch:

[player_tooltip player_id="1035700" first="Arterio" last="Williams"], 6’4 SF Hamilton West 2022

[player_tooltip player_id="1018567" first="Wayne" last="Franklin"], 6’2 CG Wayne Hills 2022

[player_tooltip player_id="1013112" first="Dennis" last="DeMarino"], 5’10 PG Cranford 2021

[player_tooltip player_id="933050" first="Jordan" last="Poole"], 5’7 PG Burlington Township 2023

Sean Foley, 6’5 PF Allentown 2021

[player_tooltip player_id="1013033" first="Jack" last="Savare"], 6’4 SG Ocean 2021
