After our series of articles on the Class of 2021 who should be valued, we now shift our attention to those in the Class of 2022 and those that need to be on the radar of college coaches.
We will continue to go through each conference to try and hit as many players as possible with the hopes of helping these juniors the attention of prospective college coaches.
Dalton Reeves Dalton Reeves 6'3" | SF Davis County | 2022 State IA – Davis County
A prolific scorer and top rebounder, Dalton Reeves Dalton Reeves 6'3" | SF Davis County | 2022 State IA is coming off a sophomore campaign in which he produced 349 points and 131 rebounds for Davis County.
Reeves, who collected 58 boards on the offensive glass, also tallied 20 steals and 15 assists. He shot 50 percent from the field, 57 percent at the free throw line and buried a dozen three-pointers.
Ethan Davis – Eddyville-Blakesburg/Fremont
Eddyville-Blakesburg/Fremont’s Ethan Davis was a terror on the offensive glass last year, as the Class of 2022 prospect recorded 64 boards there.
Davis finished with 185 rebounds in all, adding 263 points, 39 blocks, 34 assists and 29 steals. The 6-foot-5 forward shot over 58 percent from the field and made nearly 70 percent of his free throw attempts.
Jackson Pence – Albia
Those coaches in need of experienced post players at the college level will want to check out the South Central Conference.
Along with the previously mentioned forwards, Albia’s Jackson Pence continues to grow into an all-around talent. Pence had 118 points with 66 rebounds, seven steals and a handful of assists last year.
Carson Maeder – Davis County
Pairing up with Dalton Reeves Dalton Reeves 6'3" | SF Davis County | 2022 State IA is fellow Class of 2022 prospect Carson Maeder for Davis County.
Maeder picked up 75 points with 66 rebounds, 17 assists, four steals and four blocks a season ago. He shot almost 40 percent from the floor and 65 percent at the charity stripe.
Kamis Bulis – Clarke
Someone on the Clarke coaching staff likely told Kamis Bulis that to get constant playing time, rebounding the basketball was key.
Bulis listened, recording 82 boards, including 31 on the offensive glass as a sophomore. He also tallied 46 points with 17 blocks, 15 assists and 12 steals.
