It does not look like anybody not named Trey Alexander Trey Alexander 6'4" | SG Oklahoma City Heritage | 2021 State #55 Nation OK will take this spot. Alexander held the top spot for another round of refinements, his fourth consecutive ranking at the top of the class of ’21. Though he saw a sizable drop in rankings of other publications, it is unclear how that spot was determined for him. Team Griffin was mostly unable to compete during the summer, though Alexander was still exceptional in the action he saw, both at Griffin’s training camp session and more interstate play at The Circuit League.
No. 2 — Sean Pedulla Sean Pedulla 6'1" | PG Edmond Memorial | 2021 State #81 Nation OK | Edmond Memorial PG
Nobody, maybe anywhere in the country, had a more stellar breakout season than Pedulla, who lands in the second spot in this update — a ranking he has only steadily risen in during his latter high school years. It was a difficult decision to place him against Bijan Cortes Bijan Cortes 6'2" | PG Kingfisher | 2021 State #195 Nation OK , an equally gifted on-ball guard with a different skill-set. Unfortunately, there was no way they could simultaneously occupy a single spot, so the tie-breaker went to the player on the rise.
No. 3 — Bijan Cortes Bijan Cortes 6'2" | PG Kingfisher | 2021 State #195 Nation OK | Kingfisher PG
The Oklahoma commit was sidelined during his senior summer due to an ankle injury, but otherwise did nothing to depreciate his value; it was solely that excellence of Pedulla that placed him ahead of Cortes. Cortes is still primed to be one of the most outstanding players in the state in the upcoming, though tentative season. He has all of the tools to succeed in his role and may be more adapted for the college game today than any other player in the class.
No. 4 — Keyondre Young Keyondre Young 6'7" | SF Del City | 2021 State OK — Del City SG/SF
Slim is truly a rare talent in a stacked class of recruits. You can find him at most local tournaments if you just look for the 6-foot-7-inch swingman knocking down all of the shots. During his high school and grassroots seasons, Young reminded us of the rationale behind his status with uncanny accuracy, a diverse game and a durable skill-set. There are few holes to his game, and you can not teach his frame.
No. 5 — Matthew Stone Matthew Stone 6'4" | SF Kingfisher | 2021 State OK — Kingfisher SG/SF
Stone is the real deal. The recently committed future North Texas star found himself in a primary two-way role with Team Buddy Buckets as he maximized his potential. His motor speaks for itself, fitting into his high-energy style of play, while he can knock down shots from distance and defend just about anybody. With Stone, North Texas is getting a program-building player with a win-at-all-costs style of play.
