<p>The updated 2021 rankings are here and it is filled with intriguing prospects on the perimeter. Villanova commit <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="850499" first="Trey" last="Patterson"] </strong>is the top player in the class, while Temple commit <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="850506" first="Zach" last="Hicks"]</strong> is a smooth scorer. The wing position added a lot of talent in the new update with numerous players being able to contribute at the next level. Here are the top newly ranked wings in the 2021 class.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="977499" first="Sam" last="Alajiki"], 6’7 SF St. Benedict’s</strong></p>
<p>Alajiki played at Beckley Prep in West Virginia last season and is ready to make his mark on the Jersey scene. The 6’7 forward can handle the ball on the perimeter and knows how to finish above the rim. Alajiki can finish through contact and is capable of knocking down jumpers. He can rip down rebounds on both ends of the floor and is an underrated shot-blocker. Alajiki is a D1 player who should have a strong senior season for state powerhouse St. Benedict’s.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1012953" first="Saul" last="May"], 6’7 SG Olympus Prep</strong></p>
<p>May is a skilled wing prospect who should help the Olympus prep postgrad team. The 6’7 English native is crafty with the ball in his hands and is capable of creating his own shot in the halfcourt. May is a solid passer and is capable of running the offense in a pinch. His length makes him a solid perimeter defender and can rip down rebounds. May’s ability to make plays on the perimeter will give him the opportunity to raise his stock with Olympus Prep.</p>
<p><strong>Jaeden Jefferson, 6’6 SF Covenant College Prep</strong></p>
<p>Jefferson is a talented small forward who is ready to have a big year with Covenant College Prep. The 6’6 wing can put the ball on the floor and finish around the basket. Jefferson has a good post game and has a nice release on his jumper. He is an underrated passer and knows how to use his length on the defensive end. Jefferson’s ability to score in multiple ways makes him a player to watch for Covenant College Prep.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1012958" first="Keith" last="Palek"], 6’7 SF St. Augustine</strong></p>
<p>Palek had a strong summer for Olympus, which should transition into his final season at St. Augustine. The 6’7 lefty has a smooth shooting stroke and is capable of getting hot from behind the arc. Palek is more than just a shooter as he is also able to put the ball on the floor. He works hard on the glass and is an underrated passer. Palek’s shooting ability makes him a wing to watch in South Jersey this season.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1012964" first="Joe" last="Carroll"], 6’7 SF/PF Don Bosco Prep</strong></p>
<p>Carroll may play more of an interior role for the Ironmen, but his perimeter skills make him eligible for this list. The 6’7 forward has a good handle and rarely makes mistakes with the ball in his hands. Carroll has a nice touch around the basket and can finish shots through contact. He is a solid post defender and works hard on the glass at both ends. Carroll is a tough forward prospect who should help Don Bosco Prep have a strong 2020-21 season.</p>
