PrepHoops had two monster events the weekend of August 8-9 in Minnesota and Kansas City. We covered Minnesota live, but don’t fear Illinois teams that were in Kansas City we got you covered too! All this week we are rolling out our Film Room evaluations from the event! Here is The Finale Film Room: Illinois Phenom 17U!

[player_tooltip player_id="921017" first="TJ" last="Price"] (Springfield Lanphier – 2021)

Price was the go to man for Illinois Phenom against the St. Louis Cobras. Listed at 6’1” the Springfield Lanphier guard plays taller than that with his long and angular frame. Slick ball handler that got in the lane for scoop shots and was often fouled on drives. Also hit a three from the wing. Flashed his defense as well including swatting a shot from his guard spot.

[player_tooltip player_id="921003" first="Michael" last="Ousley"] (Springfield Lanphier – 2021)

Solid outing for Price’s high school backcourt mate. This 6’1” rising senior has speed in transition and knows how to use it pushing the pace. As a distributor he was effective driving in the lane and kicking to shooters for scores. Also hit a three from the top of the key.

[player_tooltip player_id="920979" first="Shane" last="Miller"] (Springfield – 2021)

Miller is a prospect we have been high on for a while. The 6’1” strong bodied point guard has a nice combination of strength, skill, and feel. This wasn’t his best game, but he did still show some of those qualities. Drilled a three, got fouled on an explosive take from the high-post, and made trips to the foul line.

[player_tooltip player_id="995974" first="Tyvin" last="Garrison"] (Springfield – 2021)

Garrison continues to intrigue us. Listed at 6’4” he plays much taller with his length and bounce. What is going to intrigue college coaches about this four man is how he can shoot it off the catch as he connected on pair of feathery threes in this one. So quick and active on the offensive glass for second chance points. Solid rim protector.

[player_tooltip player_id="821810" first="Doshawn" last="Meyers"] (Springfield Lanphier – 2021)

Meyers is a small forward at 6’3” who brings length and athleticism to the table. Very active on the offensive glass getting second chance points on put backs as well as creating contact for fouls. Has switch ability on the defensive end. High motor player.
