Jack Campion Jack Campion 5'10" | PG Milton | 2022 State WI – 2022 – PG – Milton
Guessing I’m a lot higher on Campion than most. Think he’s a kid that can play his way to the top 10 and might be there already based on how he finished the Prep Hoops Circuit. Have talked a lot about Campion’s speed on the ball. Now that he’s knocking down his 3-pointers at a high rate, Campion is a legit pick-your-poison guard. His defense doesn’t get mentioned enough either. So quick laterally, Campion doesn’t let anybody by him. He can get right up into the shorts of people and stop them in their tracks without fouling. The Milton product will be a relatively easy offer for Division 2 programs. Definitely believe he can play at the mid-major level though.
Jayquan Hickles Jayquan Hickles 6'5" | PF Milwaukee King | 2022 State WI – 2022 – PF – Milwaukee Storm
Hickles might be the most under-appreciated prospect in the state. The Milwaukee King forward is always making an impact that goes well beyond the box score. Whether it’s doing the dirty work under the rim, setting hard screens and putting people on their butt, scrapping for second-chance opportunities, Hickles’ motor never turns off. Not a guy that will ever score a ton of points, but Hickles certainly elevates any team he’s on.
Massimo Malterer Massimo Malterer 6'0" | CG Madison East | 2022 State WI – 2022 – G – Wisconsin Starz
Might be one of the better kept secrets in the Big Eight Conference right now. Malterer seems to play so well against athletic backcourts, because he plays fast, but is never in a hurry and operates under control in traffic. A smooth dribble-drive guard, Malterer has a nasty euro-step to evade help-side defenders or finish off plays in transition. Really like his even-keeled approach, even when defenders try and crowd and rattle him.
Cade Meyer Cade Meyer 6'8" | PF Monroe | 2021 State #237 Nation WI – 2021 – PF – Fox Ball
It was too easy for Meyer on Saturday. Fresh off his UW-Green Bay commitment, Meyer did whatever he wanted offensively. The 6-foot-8 forward shot the ball at a very high clip from 3-point range. If a hand was down, Meyer was letting it fly and hitting nothing but net. In transition, the Monroe star was catching alley-oops and sprinting to the lane for transition dunks. Meyer also worked hard on the offensive glass and killed opponents with second-chance opportunities. Having just turned 17, Meyer could be a game-changer for the Phoenix in a couple of years.
Michael Foster – 2021 – F – Movement Hoops Elite
Foster is the real deal and seems to have benefitted a ton since transferring to Hillcrest Prep. The former Milwaukee Washington star is a lot more polished on the perimeter and can get any shot he wants. A rare breed, Foster has the body of an imposing post prospect, but the game of a high-scoring wing. Foster can put it on the deck, score off the dribble, and knock down off-balance jumpers with a hand in face. Off the ball or in transition, Foster runs like a deer and is nearly impossible to stop from getting to the rim. If he continues to work, Foster could be the next lottery pick from Wisconsin.
Angelo Rizzo Angelo Rizzo 6'3" | SG Janesville Craig | 2021 State WI – 2021 – SG – Wisconsin Premier
Rizzo didn’t have the best day offensively, but it’s easy to appreciate how he goes about his business. Rizzo got matched up against Foster and Meyer, giving up a ton of height and weight to both. The Janesville Craig standout definitely didn’t back down from the challenge and had some bright moments on the defensive end of the floor. Seen Rizzo enough in high school to know he’s a legit and consistent shot maker. Rizzo has good positional size at 6-foot-5. He gets good elevation on his shots, isn’t fazed by a hand in his face, and knocks it down from all three levels. Could see Rizzo being a nice pickup in the WIAC.
