This tournament was a fantastic showcase of all of the talent present in the midwest, many of which will receive a major uptick in recruiting! Be on the lookout for the rest of my coverage from this event!
Nate Forystek Nate Forystek 6'7" | PF Bay Port | 2022 State WI 6’7 Wisconsin Crusaders 16U- Bayport High School
Nate is a huge force for his age down low, but also showed a great ability to have an entire offense run through him. He is confident with the ball with his back to the basket as well as operating in the high post and along the baseline. On the glass, he is a tremendous rebounder who is aware enough to make good tip out rebounds to his shooters, resulting in a few plays that should have given him an assist this weekend. I would like to see more confidence in his jumper and ability to put the ball on the floor and get by defenders which should not be difficult given his tremendous awareness.
Sam Susek 2022 6’5 Wisconsin RAP Anth- Marquette High School
Sam is a natural rim protector he is fantastic at blocking shots and disrupting opponents opportunities around the rim. He is great at cleaning the glass and makes aware outlet passes to start the fast break. He is athletic enough to be an effective rim runner at the next level. I would like to see more development with back to the basket play as well as increasing his ability to put the ball on the floor and run coast to coast.
Jackson Urban 2022 6’6 Wisconsin RAP Anth- Oak Creek High School
Jackson is a great rebounder, he is active on the boards on both sides of the ball. He has the athleticism to jump multiple times and get tip-ins after the third or fourth leap. He is very smart in his positioning when boxing out and clearing space underneath. I would like to see more playmaking ability and overall confidence with the basketball. If he also becomes more agile and able to run the floor he can be an effective rim runner.
Jeb Nytes 2022 6’8 Wisconsin Blizzard Donaldson 16U Plymouth High School
Jeb has insane size for his age and uses it to dominate down low. He clears the defensive and offensive glass with ease. His natural defensive instincts were on great display all weekend, coming up with multiple blocks and deterred so many shots at the rim. His ability to finish in the paint was impressive, coming away with rim-rattling dunks. I would like to see continued development with his face-up game and ability to stretch the floor.
