James Locke James Locke 6'3" | SG Carl Albert | 2021 State OK | Team Buddy Buckets SG | Carl Albert ’21 |
Locke was electric from 3-point range last weekend, and he even exercised his slashing game, at times. Against stiff competition, Locke averaged over three made 3s each game. Most importantly, Locke showed up for Buddy Buckets during the most pivotal stretches of basketball, including a 12-point performance against YOBO when the TBB squad enacted a 19-point swing to win. Locke also tried and finished on some mid-range buckets, showing off his polished one-dribble pull-up that froze defenders below him.
Matthew Stone Matthew Stone 6'4" | SF Kingfisher | 2021 State OK | Team Buddy Buckets SG/SF | Kingfisher ’21 |
Stone’s athleticism, explosive energy and high iQ were instrumental on both ends for TBB’s undefeated weekend. The senior swingman provided high-quality production with his versatile and captivating offensive presence, leaving defenders unsure of what he was going to do next and ultimately freeing his counterparts to score. Stone was a beast with the ball in space, and once he created separation to get to the rack, there was little opposing defenses could do to stop or limit him, save sending him to the line. He also hit shots at a high percentage from deep, including two during TBB’s 19-point run aforementioned under Locke’s evaluation above. In the fast-break, Stone was undoubtedly a spectacle, using his power to hammer the ball home and raise TBB’s cohesive energy during tense stretches of game-time.
