Ian Golden | Oklahoma Hustle Black PG | Broken Arrow ’21 |
As usual, Golden was electric in the full-court Saturday evening. He lends Hustle an immeasurable advantage thanks to his speed and toughness near the rim. Also a crafty hand-worker, Golden was able to distribute the ball at top gear with precision, allowing his shooter-laden roster to thrive from the catch. He has also improved his shot some as he was able to knock down triples with more accuracy than usual.
Sunday morning:
Anthony Allen Anthony Allen 6'5" | SF Broken Arrow | 2022 State OK | Tulsa Hawks SF | Broken Arrow ’22 |
Allen wanted to make sure it was well-understood that he belongs high in our 2022 rankings Sunday morning with an outstanding performance against players within both the ’23 and ’22 top-fives. Playing well on both ends, Allen protected the rim defensively and finished well through contact offensively, also playing a significant rebounding role on both sides.
Gavin Frakes | Burner U SF | Norman North ’22 (pictured above) |
Frakes is the type of player you may notice producing points on the board on offensive, but it isn’t until you see him on the defensive end that you realize how legit he is. Frakes was pretty much unstoppable getting to the rack, but he was really exceptional on the defensive end, swiping at the ball, nagging ball handlers and stopping the ball in the paint.
Austin Smith | Burner U SG | Mustang ’22 |
Smith was mister automatic for Burner U in a noon matchup that ended in a Burner U win. The off-ball sharpshooter converted on five 3s for 17 points while helping Burner U edge the competition. There really isn’t much to say other than that the kid refused to miss.
