To take advantage of this, we have started to add these videos to players in Oregon in the Class of 2023 at all different levels. Here’s a look at four more players whose profiles have recently been updated.
Prospect: Marquis Cook Marquis Cook 6'6" | SF AZ Compass Prep | 2023 State #6 Nation AZ
HS: Jefferson
Height/Position – 6-7 – Small Forward
PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2023 Ranking: #1
Video Added to Site: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7IirlW9eSA
Analysis: This video clip of “Mookie” highlights from this past high school season is relatively short but in just over a minute of time you get a pretty good glimpse of Cook’s immense talents and why he’s considered one of the top players in the country for the Class of 2023. Athleticism? Check. Length? Check. Shot? Check. Ball skills? Check. And what’s scary is that Cook may still be growing taller. While the best is yet to come, he’s already a dominant player at the high school level.
Prospect: Esyah Pippa-White Esyah Pippa-White 6'2" | PG Gresham | 2023 State OR
HS: Gresham
Height/Position – 6-0 – Point Guard
PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2023 Ranking: #5
Video Added to Site: https://www.hudl.com/video/3/14422293/5e78126832dcb217780fc54a
Analysis: A lot was expected out of Pippa-White even as a freshman at Gresham and the 6-foot guard delivered last season. As shown in the clips he’s a scoring lead guard who can hit threes well behind the line but can also drive and finish with either hand. In transition, he can take it coast to coast, convert floaters in the lane, or find the open man for the layup. Defensively he’s an opportunist and plays the passing lanes well.
Prospect: Ty May Ty May 6'6" | PF Philomath | 2023 State OR
HS: Philomath
Height/Position: 6-6 / Power Forward
PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2023 Ranking: #11
Video Added to Site: http://www.hudl.com/v/2DRvpy
Analysis: May is an already solid big man who made waves his first year. The first thing we noticed about the 6-foot-6 rising sophomore is his strong build, especially in the upper body, which allows him to overpower opponents and finish through contact. He’s athletic, runs the floor well, and capably defends the lane by contesting shots. May’s post moves are rudimentary at this point but he goes up strong, and offensively he isn’t chained to the paint as he can step out and hit jumpers all the way out past three-point range.
Prospect: Logan Law Logan Law 5'9" | PG Milwaukie | 2023 State OR
HS: Milwaukie
Height/Position: 5-7 – Point Guard
Video Added to Site: https://www.hudl.com/video/3/14004992/5ef4124bda517a10a0eff063
Analysis: Law is an up-and-coming point guard who had a solid first varsity campaign at Milwaukie. He’s got a nice touch on his outside shot with deep range and does well in catch-and-shoot situations. Law seems to look more to pass than shoot off the dribble but he has good court sense to find the open man. He’s small in stature right now both in height and strength but the physical maturity will come. Also of note, Law is a high-level cross-country and track athlete.
