The state of Nevada was well represented with 5 players from our state rankings making an appearance on the list. In this article we take a look at the Nevada players in the c/o 2022 National Rankings.
Milos Uzan Milos Uzan 6'4" | PG Dream City Christian | 2022 State #60 Nation AZ 6’3 PG Desert Pines 2022 (#90) – It’s been a meteoric rise for Uzan. I don’t remember him being on any list a year ago at this time, but his play has catapulted him into definite High Major category. A pure point guard with a smooth handle. Uzan recently picked up offers from Arizona, Washington and LMU.
Jaden Westwood Jaden Westwood 6'1" | CG Piute | 2022 UT 6’9 PF Coronado 2022 (#103) (featured image) – Kohler just missed our top 100. Elite post player, with dancers feet and a computer between his ears. He puts defenders in a bind, as he can score with his back to the basket, however he’s also an excellent passer from the post. Add in his rim protection and rebounding and it’s easy to see why he comes in so high on the list.
Joshua Jefferson Joshua Jefferson 6'8" | PF Liberty | 2022 State #158 Nation NV 6’7 PF Liberty 2022 (#122) – On the heels of Kohler is Jefferson. The PF has a nice game that combines post play with perimeter skill. Jefferson has a decent handle, and can step out and shoot the ball from the High School 3. Pound for Pound the best rebounder in the state.
Tavionte Jackson Tavionte Jackson 6'1" | PG Las Vegas | 2022 NV 6’1 PG Las Vegas (#189) – Perhaps no player has garnered more attention than Jackson. He and Uzan played in the same conference and you could argue that he was every bit as valuable. Jackson can get to the rack, shoot it from 3 and rebound his position. Keep an eye out for his stock to rise.
Ryan Abelman Ryan Abelman 6'4" | SG Bishop Gorman | 2022 State NV 6’2 SG Bishop Gorman (#198) – Abbleman is one of the more polarizing players on the list. He’s a throwback who has patiently waited his time on his high school squad. That doesn’t mean he can’t play. He’s a strong sharpshooting guard that has held his own against elite competition from day 1. In addition to playing for the 9 time defending 4A champs, he competes with Vegas Elite on the EYBL circuit. He’s one of the top floor spacers in the class, and has shined when given the opportunity, evident by his 11 point performance against national power Oak Hill last season.
