We will be breaking down each conference starting with the Class of 2021 first to show college coaches who they need to be placing a value on heading into the year.
We will continue to go through each conference to try and hit as many players as possible with the hopes of helping these seniors-to-be catch the attention of prospective college coaches.
Jaron Crews – Ankeny Centennial
The defending CIML Central Conference champion Ankeny Centennial will look to Jaron Crews to carry the load next season.
Crews posted 362 points last year, leading the team with 122 assists. He had over a 2-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio, shooting 41 percent from the field, 79 percent at the free throw line and sinking a team-leading 55 three-pointers.
Along with all of that, Crews also recorded 66 rebounds and had 28 steals.
Keyshaun Brooks Keyshaun Brooks 6'1" | CG Ames | 2021 State IA – Ames
While high school basketball fans, especially those at Ames, await the return of Tamin Lipsey Tamin Lipsey 6'2" | PG Ames | 2022 State #163 Nation IA , the Little Cyclones carried on last year under the ways of Keyshaun Brooks Keyshaun Brooks 6'1" | CG Ames | 2021 State IA .
Brooks scored a team-leading 354 points, making 45 percent of his shots from the field with 50 three-pointers. He also sank 60 of 74 free throws, adding 40 rebounds, 36 steals and 22 assists.
Ryan Riggs Ryan Riggs 6'9" | PF Dowling Catholic | 2021 State IA – West Des Moines Dowling
It was a bit of an up-and-down season for West Des Moines Dowling, but they did end it in the Class 4A state tournament.
Now, the task of keeping the Maroons among the elite in the state rests with Ryan Riggs Ryan Riggs 6'9" | PF Dowling Catholic | 2021 State IA , who led the team in scoring and rebounding as a junior.
Riggs posted over 12 points and six boards a night, shooting almost 58 percent from the floor and 44.4 percent from the three-point line. Also, nearly three of his rebounds came on the offensive glass.
Max Roquet Max Roquet 6'6" | C Johnston | 2021 State IA – Johnston
Johnston pushed Ankeny Centennial to the distance in a substate final last year, bowing out with a record of 15-8.
The Dragons return a solid nucleus led by Class of 2021’s Max Roquet Max Roquet 6'6" | C Johnston | 2021 State IA .
Roquet led the team with 267 points and 209 rebounds last year, which averages out to 11.6 and 9.1 per game. He shot an incredible 70 percent from the field, making 108 of 155 attempts with a handful of three-pointers.
Reid Grant Reid Grant 6'1" | PG Johnston | 2021 State IA – Johnston
The second part to the dynamic junior duo for Johnson is Reid Grant Reid Grant 6'1" | PG Johnston | 2021 State IA , who led the team with 85 assists last year.
Grant also scored 214 points on 52 percent shooting with 13 made three-pointers. He added in 112 rebounds and 32 steals for the Dragons.
