The 2022 class is filled with a lot of talent headlined by Bergen Catholic’s [player_tooltip player_id="850662" first="Will" last="Richardson"]. [player_tooltip player_id="850664" first="Mark" last="Armstrong"] and [player_tooltip player_id="901942" first="Ben" last="Roy"] were also named to All-State teams, while [player_tooltip player_id="787669" first="Corey" last="Floyd Jr"]. has been a key contributor for Roselle Catholic over the last two seasons. Most of the top prospects in the class are point guards, but it also contains a solid group of shooting guards. Here are the top 2022 off ball guards.

[player_tooltip player_id="787669" first="Corey" last="Floyd Jr"]., 6’4 CG Roselle Catholic

The Lions have been one of the top teams in the state for the five seasons as they have taken home three straight Non-Public B North titles. The graduations of [player_tooltip player_id="766099" first="CJ" last="Wilcher"] and [player_tooltip player_id="850316" first="Cliff" last="Omoruyi"] will be tough to replace, but Floyd Jr. is ready for a bigger role on offense. The 6’4 combo guard has a good handle and knows how to finish around the rim. Floyd Jr. is capable of running the offense, but five-star guard [player_tooltip player_id="850752" first="Simeon" last="Wilcher"] will be the point for the Lions in 2020-21. Roselle Catholic should be one of the top teams again next season with Floyd Jr. and Wilcher in the backcourt.

[player_tooltip player_id="850672" first="Kyle" last="Cuffee Jr."], 6’2 CG Blair Academy

The Buccaneers have to replace Stanford commit [player_tooltip player_id="850357" first="Michael" last="O’Connell"] and Cuffee Jr. has the best change to do so. The athletic 6’2 guard loves to finish above the rim and is unafraid of challenging big guys around the rim. Cuffee Jr. has an explosive first step, but can also knock down shots from behind the arc. He is an underrated defender and has a good chemistry with point guard [player_tooltip player_id="850502" first="Jaylen" last="Blakes"]. Cuffee Jr. has picked up five high major offers since the season ended and that list should go after a strong 2020-21 season.

[player_tooltip player_id="850671" first="Otega" last="Oweh"], 6’3 SG Blair Academy

The second straight Buccaneer on this list, Oweh played last season at Rutgers Prep. The 6’3 guard is a big-time athlete who knows how to finish above the rim and draw contact around the basket. Oweh is more than just a slasher as he is also a solid three-point shooter. He is a good perimeter defender and is an underrated passer.

[player_tooltip player_id="850678" first="Keon" last="Sabb"], 6’3 SG Williamstown

Sabb is not a only a star on the hardwood as he is a five-star recruit on the gridiron as well. The 6’3 dual sport athlete is at his best attacking the basket where he can either finish above the rim or make tough layups in traffic. Sabb has a solid mid-range game and makes plays with the ball in his hands. He is a good rebounder and uses his athleticism to block shots around the basket. Sabb is looking to lead Williamstown deep into the South Jersey Group 4 tournament next season after falling to Egg Harbor in the quarterfinals.

[player_tooltip player_id="850683" first="Julian" last="Brown"], 5’11 PG Bergen Catholic

Brown will be a point guard at the next level, but he is adept at playing off the ball. He is a big-time scorer who can put up points in bunches like his 32-point performance at St. Joseph (Mont.). Brown is hard to contain off the bounce and is a crafty finisher around the basket. He is a tough defender and has a good chemistry with point guard [player_tooltip player_id="850662" first="Will" last="Richardson"]. Bergen Catholic is looking to win its third straight Non-Public A North title behind its 2022 guard duo of Richardson and Brown.
