The good news is, the recent shutdown has provided ample opportunity for me to discover talented players during hours of dedicated film study, because of this I expect these to be the most detailed and accurate rankings to date. In this article, PH takes a look at some class of 2023 players set to rise.
Jordan Morency Jordan Morency 6'4" | PG Bishop Manogue | 2023 State NV 6’2 PG Silverado 2023 (#6) – Morency has performed well versus high-level competition, and he contributed on varsity as a freshman. Good creator, with the ability to find open teammates or make a play for himself.
David Poole David Poole 5'10" | PG Valley | 2023 State NV 5’10 PG Mojave 2023 (#11) – Poole saw major playing time in his first year at Mojave. The powerfully built guard is a solid defender that can get to the rack at will. Good combo guard that can defend both backcourt positions, his production, potential, and physicality have him set to rise.
Elijah Burney Elijah Burney 6'1" | PG Centennial | 2023 State NV 5’9 PG Centennial (#16) – Burney was a clutch player for the Centennial freshmen squad last season. He’s a high IQ pg with a good skill set. Plays for a high school program loaded with similar guards, however, he certainly has the potential to be an impact player.
Karson Roberts Karson Roberts 5'10" | PG Bonanza | 2023 State NV 5’10 PG Bonanza 2023 – Roberts had a surprising season as a starter for Bonanza. He plays the game with the poise of a much more veteran player. His decision making, ball handling, and shooting, against 4A competition has him set to rise in the rankings.
Tylen Riley Tylen Riley 6'2" | CG Durango | 2023 State NV 6’0 SG Durango – Riley is a quick athletic combo guard. A good driver and slasher, Riley can blow by opponents and finish at the rim. He’s strongest on the defensive end, where he plays with a high motor, and uses good lateral quickness to stay in front of defenders.
