Hudson County basketball will look much different next season. Marist has made the last two Hudson County Tournament finals, but the school is closing down at the end of the academic year. Zion Cruz was the top prospect in the 2022 class, but the former Hudson Catholic guard transferred to Oak Hill Academy. Hudson County is still full of talented players capable of taking over games. Here are the top duos in Hudson County.

St. Peter’s Prep

The Marauders won the 2019-20 Hudson County Tournament behind the play of [player_tooltip player_id="850664" first="Mark" last="Armstrong"] and [player_tooltip player_id="900328" first="Rayshawn" last="Ford"]. The former is a dynamic scorer capable of scoring 25 points on any given night. Ford closed out the season strong as he finished with three straight 20-point performances. The guards play well off each other as they can finish around the basket, knock down shots from behind the arc and facilitate the offense. St. Peter’s Prep should be one of the top teams in New Jersey next season behind Armstrong and Ford.

Hudson Catholic

The Hawks may have lost Cruz, but they still have a talented guard duo in [player_tooltip player_id="850515" first="Justin" last="Glover"] and [player_tooltip player_id="850675" first="Isaiah" last="Griffin"]. The latter is a talented lead guard who is capable of getting to the basket and running the offense. Glover is a big-time shooter who has a beautiful stroke and deep shooting range. They are both solid on-ball defenders and good rebounders for guards. Hudson Catholic has the potential to be one of the top teams in Hudson County this season if Glover and Griffin can replace Cruz’s scoring.

North Bergen

The Bruins were one of the more underrated teams in Hudson County all season as they won 18 games and made the county semifinals. Montclair State commit Fransisco Paulino departs, but [player_tooltip player_id="933706" first="DeAvion" last="Ellis"] and Eli Camacho should be a big-time duo in North Jersey. The former is a versatile scoring threat who can put the ball in the hole from all three levels. Camacho is a knock-down three-point shooter, but will have to be more than just a shooter in his junior campaign. They are talented guard prospects who have the capability to lead the Bruins to a big 2020-21 season. Ellis is one of the best kept secrets in Hudson County and Camacho’s shooting makes North Bergen a team to watch inn Hudson County.

Snyder

The Tigers won 20 games last season, but they have to replace All-Group 3 First Team member [player_tooltip player_id="896464" first="Corey" last="Manning-Floyd"]. [player_tooltip player_id="933710" first="Shy’heed" last="Jenkins-Floyd"] returns in the backcourt, while Dajer Muldrow becomes the main guy down low. The 6’6 junior has a nice touch around the basket and is an underrated shot-blocker. Jenkins-Floyd is a quick point guard who can break his defender down off the bounce and is an elite on-ball defender. Manning-Floyd is a big loss for Snyder, but Muldrow and Jenkins-Floyd have the potential to breakout for the Tigers in 2020-21.

Lincoln

The Lions were seconds away from making the Central Jersey Group 2 final and they should be in the same spot in 2020-21. [player_tooltip player_id="900337" first="Toriano" last="Munford"] is a skilled 6’5 forward who can finish through contact and is a solid defender. Wendell Moreland is a tough point guard prospect who makes plays with the ball in hands and can knock down perimeter jump shots. Their ability to play on both ends of the floor provides Lincoln with one of the top two-way duos in Hudson County.

Other Players to Watch:

St. Peter’s Prep: [player_tooltip player_id="900291" first="Josh" last="Hopson"] 6’8 C 2021, [player_tooltip player_id="900307" first="Gavin" last="O’Farrell"] 6’6 PF 2021

Memorial: Alejandro Arango 6’1 SG 2022, Miguel Cambrot 6’2 SG 2021

Union City: [player_tooltip player_id="850673" first="Maurice" last="Odum"] 6’1 PG 2022, Devin Gomez 5’10 PG 2021
