To view the previous position rankings, follow the links that follow for point guards, shooting guards, small forwards and power forwards. Multiple dozen prospects for all levels have been written about and listed.
The center position in 2021 definitely has some size and multiple throwback centers that were looking to have strong Spring seasons to boost their recruitment. There is a real lack of depth at the center position in the 2021 class and basically every class in Washington most years, but again, there are some recruitable bigs in 2021 and probably more so than the average class.
6’9 Kaden Perry Kaden Perry 6'10" | C Battle Ground | 2021 State #16 Nation WA of Battle Ground High School is the standout at the center position. He is the most athletic big man in the state and a real inside presence on both sides of the ball with his ability to dunk on several defenders on one end then get a huge block on the other. A commit to Gonzaga University, Perry has a very high ceiling and is a legitimate top 75 player nationally. At number two is 6’10 Gavin Gilstrap Gavin Gilstrap 6'10" | C Central Valley | 2021 State WA of Central Valley High School. Gilstrap has gotten a little better each year in high school and he showed improved conditioning in his junior season, helping CV to a 4a state runner-up finish. He has solid footwork and touch around the basket, he just needs to continue working on his explosiveness off the ground finishing over length. He should be gaining more and more college attention thanks to his great size and room for growth with his game. 6’9 David Pickles David Pickles 6'9" | C Mercer Island | 2021 State WA is the number three center in the state (feature image). Pickles made first team All-KingCo for Mercer Island High School. He has imposing size and wide shoulders. His conditioning also improved this past season. The ability to knock down the outside shot is also there. Another throwback big with great size that is recruitable for the next level. At number four is 6’11 Liam Hanenburg Liam Hanenburg 6'11" | C Lynden | 2021 State WA . The star of Lynden High School may be too underrated in the rankings as he had great growth and development this past high school season. He is a strong force inside at 6’11 and he actually runs the floor pretty well. With continued development, there’s no reason he shouldn’t be playing Division 1 somewhere.
