We will now begin our look at Detroit’s prospects in the class of 2021, starting with the wings.
Here are our class of 2021 top wings in the city:
#6
Ralph Bland II (2021, SF, Detroit Edison)
Honestly, I’m not an expert on his game. Yet. But I added him to the list because from what I’ve seen, and the great vibes on him coming from trusted sources in the city, he’s primed for a breakout.
#5
Jahlani Thornton Jahlani Thornton 6'5" | PF DEPSA | 2021 State MI (2021, SF, Detroit Edison)
Thornton is as well conditioned of a player as you’ll find. He can fly up and down the court without tiring.
#4
Cordario Miles Cordario Miles 6'4" | SG Detroit CMA | 2021 State MI (2021, SG, Detroit CMA)
The future for Detroit CMA looks bright, and Miles is a big part of that. He’s a 2 way player and can drive while absorbing contact.
#3
Sterling Blakely Sterling Blakely 6'4" | SF Detroit Renaissance | 2021 State MI (2021, SF, Detroit Renaissance)
I’ve been a huge fan of Blakely as a player and of his potential for quite some time. He can make plays in the open floor as well as be effective in an offensive set.
#2
Jaylen Flaniken Jaylen Flaniken 6'3" | SF Detroit Edison | 2021 State MI (2021, SF, Detroit Edison)
Flaniken is a lightning rod of a playmaker. He can finish above the rim and bring the crowd to its feet after an alley oop dunk.
#1
Pierre Brooks Pierre Brooks 6'5" | SG Detroit Douglass | 2021 State #76 Nation MI Jr. (2021, G/F, Detroit Frederick Douglass)
This is as obvious as they come. There is no player more impressive in the state than the recent Michigan State commit. Brooks can do it all, from burying a triple to making the hustle play on defense. Coach Izzo and Spartan fans will love his intelligence and versatility on the floor. Brooks will be one of the favorites to win Michigan’s Mr. Basketball in 2021.
