Top-5’s in 2022: Athletes

<p>With the possibility of losing the entire AAU season this year, I will mention all 104 sophs ranked. </p> <p>I like to take a look at my annual “Top-5’s”.</p> <p>Every player has their 1 skill they usually excel at.   </p> <p>It’s just a fun way to take a look at players’ elite skills in different categories. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>We move over to the 10 players who are athletes. These are the players who may jump out of the gym or make a freaky highlight reel play on offense or defense! </p> <p>Here are my Top-5:</p> <p>1. [player_tooltip player_id="933469" first="Devontes" last="Cobbs"] (Hillcrest Prep)  </p> <p>-A freaky athlete who seems to fly on the break. His quick-twitch reflexes make him a tough defender.   </p> <p>2. [player_tooltip player_id="701238" first="Garrison" last="Phelps"] (St. Mary’s) <strong>(Pictured) </strong></p> <p>-Another top-notch defender is one of the top athletes in the AIA. </p> <p>3. [player_tooltip player_id="827007" first="Oakland" last="Fort"] (Sunnyslope)</p> <p>-Not too far off from the top two, can jump out of the building. He has improved since freshman year.  </p> <p>4. [player_tooltip player_id="827020" first="Trey" last="Phillips"] (Brophy Prep)</p> <p>-A diamond in the rough played less than 10 games coming back from an injury. And only played JV, but don't let that fool you, he is a super athlete.  </p> <p>5. [player_tooltip player_id="827000" first="Dorell" last="Thomas"] (Hillcrest Prep)</p> <p>-Another prep athlete is the 3 and D type who can play above the rim on the open court. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>5-more:</p> <p>1. [player_tooltip player_id="827008" first="Isaac" last="Garcia"] (Cholla)</p> <p>-One of the best athletes in Tucson should have a great season. </p> <p>4. [player_tooltip player_id="827039" first="Peyton" last="Beaur"] (CDS)</p> <p>-A little known forward is very athletic and active on the glass.  </p> <p>5. [player_tooltip player_id="936759" first="Mason" last="Knollmiller"] (Highland) </p> <p>-A quick wing who can get in the lane with some pop.  </p>
