<p>Penns Grove took home the South Jersey Group 1 sectional title after taking down Lindenwold. They were led by their stars all throughout so let’s take a look at the top performers from the tournament.</p>
<p><strong>MVP: [player_tooltip player_id="896631" first="Kavon" last="Lewis"] (2020) | Penns Grove</strong></p>
<p>Lewis scored 531 points in his senior season. He went for 20 or more in all four games during their state tournament run. He scored 27 points in the quarterfinals against Paulsboro and in the finals against Lindenwold. He also poured in 23 points in round one and 22 points in the semis against Wildwood. The senior hit nine three’s during their run and got to the free throw line effectively.</p>
<p><strong>First Team</strong></p>
<p><strong>Jaylen Newton (2020) | Penns Grove: </strong>Newton was a walking double-double throughout the season. He began with 17 points and 10 rebounds in a round one win over Mastery Charter.</p>
<p><strong>Eriq Campbell (2021) | Lindenwold: </strong>Campbell averaged 24 points per game over four contests in the tournament. This includes a 34-point outing in the semi-finals against Gloucester. That followed 26 points and 12 rebounds against Pitman.</p>
<p><strong>Diante Miles (2021) | Wildwood: </strong>Miles has been filling up the state sheet in many ways all season long. This continued in the tournament where he piled up 36 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, and six steals in a quarterfinal win over Woodstown.</p>
<p><strong>Steven Light (2022) | Gloucester: </strong>Light averaged 13.5 points per game over three in the tournament. The sophomore began to come into his own down the stretch of the season. He scored 22 points in the quarterfinals against Overbrook. Light is set up for a big junior season with Gloucester.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="896622" first="Rob" last="Petersen"] (2020) | Pitman: </strong>Petersen averaged nine assists over two games in the bracket. He added 21 points in round one and 27 in the quarterfinals against Salem. Petersen was the definition of a true point guard throughout the course of the season.</p>
