Sam Burdette – 2021 – SG – Milton
This is a potential breakout player in the Badger South next season. While Burdette went down, he went down swinging. The senior sharpshooter knocked in six triples en route to a team-high 20 points. We’ve seen Burdette shoot it at a high level all season. The junior guard has an excellent stroke from beyond the 3-point line with extended range. He also does a great job of feeding off his guards, moving without the basketball, or relocating after a pass.
Jack Campion Jack Campion 5'10" | PG Milton | 2022 State WI – 2022 – PG – Milton
Not coming off the floor until the final minute, Campion did all he could to try and keep Milton afloat. While he ran out of gas, especially when Central went to their zone defense to contain him, it was another impressive performance for the electrifying floor general. Campion has the best handles in the state…without a doubt. The 5-foot-10 sophomore is next to impossible to handle 1-on-1 and blows by defenders with ease. When he mixes in a 3-pointer from well beyond the arc, defenders just have to pick their poison. Always getting downhill and attacking, Campion also has terrific drive and dish ability. Defenses know they need 3-4 defenders in the paint at all times and that allows Campion to pick them apart with his vision. Registering six assists on Friday, Campion hits shooters on time and on target. While he’s undersized, Campion is a terrific finisher in traffic. He can hang and adjust or use outstanding touch to float shots over the arms of shot blockers while finishing at top end speed.
Kenny Garth Kenny Garth 6'2" | CG Westosha Central | 2022 State WI – 2022 – G – Westosha Central
This is a kid that schools need to start tracking this spring. An intriguing combo guard with good size and length, Garth hit some timely shots when the Falcons were trailing to rally them from a deficit, including a big 3-pointer early in the second half after it looked like Milton was taking control. That triple ignited a big run for Central, who would later take the lead and never look back. Garth chipped in with 13 points. The 6-foot-2 guard has a very effective pull-up game from mid and 3-point range and also the body/athleticism to slash to the bucket.
Devin Griffin – 2022 – PG – Westosha Central
Griffin made some huge plays down the stretch put Milton away. A crafty floor general who can drive and dish, Griffin got into high percentage areas, drew defenders, and dropped passes off to open teammates for easy buckets. In addition to three key assists in the final minutes, Griffin also scored 12 points. The sophomore guard hit a couple of 3’s early to help the Falcons settle in offensively. One of those x-factor players, as good as Griffin’s teammates are, when he plays well, the Falcons seem to be at a different level.
Jack Rose Jack Rose 6'5" | SG Westosha Central | 2022 State #213 Nation WI – 2022 – SG – Westosha Central
Rose had a game-high 24 points in the win. While he’s a high volume scorer at times, Rose tends to be pretty efficient despite a tendency to take a lot of difficult shots in bigger games. He’s not overly fast or athletic with the ball in his hands right now and lacks the above-the-rim ability you’d like from a 6-foot-4 wing, but understands his strengths and plays to them. Rose is a dangerous mid-range scorer that thrives in the 12-18 foot area off the bounce. He can catch-and-shoot off screens or size his man up and rise over the top from downtown. A three-level scorer, Rose has an advanced post game and does a great job of sealing defenders under the rim and winning before he even catches a pass.
