Below are the 1st team prospects from the Battle in Bullhead. These guys played extremely well throughout the event.

MVP

[player_tooltip player_id="804825" first="David" last="Teibo"] 6’5 SF/PF 2020 Ironwood

Teibo played at a high level throughout the event. He has earned a reputation for playing with a high motor at all times. Further, his athleticism and strength make him stand out as well.

However, part of what made him really stand out this past weekend was his improved shooting and footwork. Teibo was able to attack off of the dribble as well as off of the rip. Moreover, he was willing to shoot it from deep and had success.

Teibo is an intriguing prospect with extremely high upside. As his wing and guard skills continue to improve, he will get more and more attention.

1st Team

[player_tooltip player_id="928565" first="Jacob" last="Leslie"] 6’5 PF 2020 MALC

Leslie is another prospect, much like Teibo, who has earned a reputation for defense and effort. Leslie blocked the most shots out of any prospect in the event, which was expected. Further, he competed well on the glass and finished well around the rim.

In addition to solid footwork on the block, he also shot the basketball well from 3 and put the basketball on the floor. His improved skill set as well as more athletic physique really stood out at the event. Leslie looks primed to have a huge senior season.

Cordarius Gandy 6’2 SG 2021 Ironwood

Gandy played out of his mind at times. In addition to attacking the rim well and finishing around the the rim, he shot it at a high rate from 3. Gandy is typically known for his lockdown defense as well as his ability to beat defenders off of the dribble.

With that said, he showed that he has worked on his game and improved his ability to do more while still being solid defensively.

[player_tooltip player_id="827019" first="Ringo" last="Aguek"] 6’4 SG 2022 Ironwood

Aguek might have the most upside out of any prospect who was at the event. Much like his brother, Ajang Aguek who is 6’8 and plays at NAU, Ringo is constantly growing. He is already lengthy and skilled.

However, if he ends up being 6’8, he is a legitimate guard as far as skill set is concerned. He moves his feet well defensively and competes. Aguek’s upside is through the roof.

[player_tooltip player_id="928569" first="Jacob" last="Martel"] 6’5 SF 2020 Kingman

Martel has grown as a player and in height since last year. The added length has made him even more versatile. He was one of the toughest prospects for opposing teams to guard due to his skill set and size.

One of the biggest areas in which he has improved was his ability to let it fly from deep. His ability to slash make him tough, but now defenders have to respect his ability to let it fly off of the catch and in catch and shoot situations.

Kade Juelfs 6’0 PG 2020 River Valley

Juelfs has really impressed me the last two years at this event. He is a prospect that most have not heard of due in large part to the location of his school.

However, make no mistake about it, Juelfs is a legitimate college basketball prospect. He is strong, shoots it well, keeps the basketball in front on defense, rotates well, and makes plays.

Juelfs has the build to play immediately. Further, he is skilled and plays the right way.
