Named Region 2-6A Offensive Player of the Year, Max Hrdlicka Max Hrdlicka 6'6" | SF Glynn Academy | 2021 State GA might be the best player down on the coast that fans in the Metro Atlanta area haven’t heard much about yet. The sturdy wing plays every position at the high school level. He’s strong enough to work in the paint and battle on the boards, he’s quick enough to rip past defenders on the perimeter and he’s smart enough to handle the ball against pressure and find open men. Hrdlicka is sneaky athletic and has an aesthetically pleasing highlight tape. He’s improved not only his athleticism and quickness but his three-point shot, now capable of hitting tough contested jumpers from deep. He’s a High Academic recruit with a 3.9 GPA and 22 ACT on his first attempt. Max averaged 17 points, 7 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 3 steals and 1 block per game. He will suit up with the Atlanta Timberwolves this travel season and should quickly become a popular name among college recruiters.
128. 5-10 CG Tyrease Jones Tyrease Jones 5'10" | CG Brunswick | 2021 State GA – Brunswick
A microwave scorer that proved to be an X-Factor when he poured in 37 points in the opening round of the state playoffs, Tyrease Jones Tyrease Jones 5'10" | CG Brunswick | 2021 State GA is a lethal bucket getter that loves to play fast. He averaged 10.5 points per game and played team-first basketball instead of hunting his offense. Jones scores at all three levels and can catch fire from beyond the arc quickly. The shifty guard may have the reins loosened on him a little more his senior season and if so, expect his scoring output to increase.
104. 6-8 PF Corey Thomas Corey Thomas 6'9" | PF Cherokee Bluff | 2021 State GA – Cherokee Bluff
The blossoming big man had a promising junior season cut short after a broken leg. Thomas was showing flashes of his potential; blocking shots, scoring up close and rebounding at a high level. A healthy senior season should boost his stock. Reps are valuable at this stage of his development so he will have to work doubly hard once cleared but keep Thomas in mind as a late bloomer that has a good future ahead.
75. 6-6 F Elijah Williams Elijah Williams 6'3" | SF Thrive Christian Academy | 2021 State GA – Providence Christian
At his newfound home of Providence Christian, Elijah Williams Elijah Williams 6'3" | SF Thrive Christian Academy | 2021 State GA quickly became a star. The versatile wing posted 18.1 points, 8.6 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.9 steals per game as the Storm flipped their record from 3-24 to a record-setting 24-3 campaign. Williams climbed 11 spots in the rankings and his ascent has just begun. D-I schools are starting to show interest.

Class 7A’s Most Improved Player, Jason Edwards Jason Edwards 5'11" | CG Parkview | 2021 State GA went from a JV role at Grayson to leading Gwinnett County in scoring at Parkview. Edwards is a polished scorer that puts the ball in the basket in a number of ways. He’s not the biggest or most athletic guard, so Edwards uses his savvy to pick and choose his spots wisely. He’s a crafty slasher and a solid shooter. It will be interesting to see what Edwards can do as an encore after averaging 20.6 points, 2.2 assists and 1.9 steals.
47. 6-4 SG Jaylin Sellers – Spencer
With a Troy offer already in hand, Jaylin Sellers has quietly been one of West Georgia’s best scorers for a while now. Playing in Class 2A may have hurt his exposure a little bit but the Greenwave are moving up to Class 4A and Spencer should be a legitimate title contender. Sellers thrives in the open floor and is a capable three-point shooter. The lefty is primed for a huge senior season as he looks to win his third-straight Region Player of the Year award.
