Sandy’s Spiel Showcase Top Shooters
2020 6-4 W Cole Perusek – GAC
When you drill eight threes in a game, you know you’re locked in. Cole Perusek, a high-academic swingman, was unconscious from deep pouring in 28 points in GAC’s 91-67 win over ELCA. Nearly every time Perusek got a chance to set his feet it was bottoms. Last year Perusek served as a gritty role-player off the bench but this season he’s been allowed to showcase his three-point prowess full-time. While his release may be a tick slow, he’s accurate when he fires. D-III’s Oglethorpe and Sewanee have already offered.
2022 6-3 G JC Curry – Hart County
A plethora of seniors graduated from last year’s Class 3A state runner-up team including four starters which meant someone had to step up for the Hart County Bulldogs this season. One player who has seen an increased role has been JC Curry. The frizzy-haired sophomore has some upside. Curry drained three deep balls to finish with 9 points and 4 rebounds. Aside from his jump shot, Curry is a sneaky good athlete that can play above the rim. His length on the perimeter is an added plus defensively.
2021 6-2 SG LaMarr Randolph – GAC
A strong-bodied guard with a jumper, LaMarr Randolph pitched in 15 points (3 threes), 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals in GAC’s rout. Randolph’s physicality gives him the ability to affect the game in a multitude of ways. He averages a consistent 15 points per game and could be a player to keep track of come his senior season once he becomes the primary scoring option.
2020 5-11 SG Shae Ward – St. Anne-Pacelli
In a tight back-and-forth game in the fourth quarter, Shae Ward hit big shots down the stretch to help St. Anne-Pacelli hold off Elbert County 57-52. Ward knocked down three three-pointers en route to 11 points. He did a nice job of finding open spaces in the defense and his teammates hit him when available. Ward really hurt the Blue Devils with his floor spacing when it mattered most.
2020 6-0 G DJ Ardister – Elbert County
The chiseled football player sank three three-pointers to finish with 9 points. He made two in the first quarter to help Elbert County keep close following a slow start. Ardister isn’t much of a creator, but he has range that can keep defenses honest.
