From high flying dunks to big blocks on the defensive end, BJ Jefferson is sure to make his presence known the second he steps on the court. Holding offers from multiple D2s and other small schools, Jefferson looks to receive a breakthrough D1 offer. The Tulsa (Central) wing continues to show off his elite athleticism as well as being a very solid defender on the wing and in the paint.
Tonight, his performance was no different, scoring from all three levels, Jefferson showed the ability to score on a consistent basis, especially in clutch situations. Knocking down two huge threes that kept Central within 10 points in the fourth quarter, Jefferson was the go-to-guy when they needed a bucket.
Jefferson also brought plenty of energy to the floor, keeping his opponent on edge at all times. Vocally, Jefferson was the loudest on the court, directing traffic for Central and making sure his teammates get to the spots they need to be in.
Jefferson spoke to us after his team’s matchup with NW Classen and shared a bit on how that aggressiveness and energy has become a more prevalent part of his game this season.
“Putting my focus completely on winning and not about getting my own, I have been able to focus my energy on pushing myself and my teammates to play better, harder and more aggressively.”
Speaking to Jefferson after the game, we asked how his family around him has helped him grow into the player he can be.
“My family really wants me to go where I’m going to have my best fit, they really care about me and what my choice means.”
Second, we asked if he had any new interest from schools. This is the complete list he gave us at Prep Hoops.
“Colorado State, Incarnate Word, Alabama A&M, and VCU have started talking to me now.”
Jefferson is ranked ninth in our Prep Hoops Oklahoma rankings and will be a key part to Central’s path to the gold ball.
