Continue ReadingRoff served Vanoss its first loss of the season Tuesday night in a 49-46 thriller that included two late go-ahead shots and even more new prospects to evaluate. The players below were the most outstanding prospects from the game.
Trayson Miller | 2021 SF | Roff (pictured above)
Trayson Miller was arguably the most impressive all-around athlete on the floor. His 6-foot-4-inch frame allowed him to rebound, defend everything inside the perimeter, finish shots near the rim and score the basketball at a high level. Miller finished with 20 points in the win to take down the undefeated Wolves. Particularly, he scored very well at the bottom two levels and elevated to score above the rim.
Cade Paulin | 2020 PG | Vanoss
Cade Paulin was the most dominant scorer of the night, sinking 6 total 3-pointers on the night to lead the Wolves with 20 points, and he even hit a go-ahead shot and sunk a pair of — what appeared to be — game-icing free throws late. Unfortunately for Paulin and the Wolves, a last-minute (literally) surge allowed Roff to storm back to complete the win.
Brady Benedict | 2021 SG | Roff
Brady Benedict was, perhaps, the most talented passer on the floor for the winning team last night. He especially shined in a moment where he tossed an easy lob from half-court to end the half to give Roff a lead. Benedict was also a great shooter Tuesday night, hitting three 3-pointers to contribute nine points for his team.
Ryan Dennis | 2020 SG | Vanoss
Despite having somewhat of an off-night shooting the ball, Dennis still was one of the best all-around players on the floor. Finishing with 9 points, Dennis had to fight for the buckets he felled, displaying his smooth finish around the rim and outlasting defenders in transition. Additionally, Dennis was one of the best passers, defenders and rebounders on the floor as well.
Wil Joplin | PG | Roff
Wil Joplin impressed with his polished ball-handling and rebounding skills. He played fearlessly when competing for the ball and led the offense against a tough press defense. Joplin was also great when penetrating the defense and passing the ball out.
Tucker Bucher | 2020 W | Vanoss
A true hustle player, Tucker Bucher was contributing in big ways for the Wolves. He shot the ball well, passed, rebounded, defended well, swiped steals and everything in-between.
Brayden Cannon | 2023 PF | Vanoss
Maybe the most talented underclassman on the floor, Brayden Cannon was an impressive defensive body Tuesday night. He got steals, protected the rim and was relentless in pursuing the ball.
