Ben Gregg (2021 Clackamas) – Stats: 32 pts, 6 rebounds, 3-7 3pt
Gregg was the top performer in the session. Despite continuing to play with a sore back, the 6-foot-8 junior had it going offensively, converting buckets inside and also stepping out to either create off the bounce or knock down the three. Defensively he did a good job of hanging with Battle Ground star post Kaden Perry without fouling and in the end, it was his steal of the inbounds pass that led to a bucket that sealed the win for his Cavaliers.
Evan Inglesby (2020 Barlow) – Stats: 27 pts, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks
With his teammate Jesse White seemingly off with his shot so far in the LSI, Inglesby has more than stepped things up with his own offense – and he continues to do so without seemingly forcing a thing. The 6-foot-3 senior again had a very efficient outing, hitting a decent percentage of his threes (3-for-7) while also canning some pull-ups and converting around the rim.
Jackson Shelstad (2023 West Linn) – Stats: 19 pts, 7-12 fg, 3-6 3pt
With each game, Shelstad continues to learn to be more comfortable with balancing running the offense with looking for his own shot. In this game, the 5-foot-11 guard was more focused on scoring and he did so in a very efficient way. Shelstad was sharp from deep, at times the shot so pure it was pure swish. He also made a number of pull-ups as well.
Micah Garrett (2020 West Linn) – Stats: 21 pts, 5 rebounds
Garrett was very aggressive on the offensive end and proved to be a good one-two punch along with Shelstad. At times when the defense gave it to him, the 6-foot-3 guard put his head down and drove hard to the hole, often drawing contact – where he took advantage by hitting 8-for-9 on free throws. The senior also hit a few of his now patented pull-up jumpers.
Keegan Shivers (2020 Wilsonville) – Stats: 14 pts, 6 rebounds, 7 assists
With star forward Dakota Reber out for the rest of the tournament due to injury, someone needed to step up and Shivers did just that. The 6-foot-4 wing/forward had a solid all-around game, using some of his post-up moves to create either for himself or pass out to open shooters out on the perimeter. He helped out with the ball-handling and was pretty tough on the defensive end.
Jack Chlumak (2020 Lake Oswego) – Stats: 15 pts, 4 rebounds, 6-11 fg
For the second game in a row, Chlumak ended up leading Lake Oswego in scoring. It was a little different in this game as most of his buckets came from drives to the bucket where he utilized a nice little floater in the lane. Chlumak has good court awareness of where he is on the floor so he’s able to use a spin move and still know his location to put up a high percentage shot.
Liam Ruttledge (2021 Jesuit) – Stats: 16 pts, 3 rebounds, 3 assists
The way he’s been shooting the ball, we are becoming convinced that Ruttledge is one of the top shooters in the Class of 2021. While his form is a bit unorthodox, the lefty has definitely had some good results so it’s hard to complain. He didn’t shoot the best percentage on Friday (4-for-12) but there were a few that he nailed at critical junctures of the game in Jesuit’s 60-46 win.
Adrian Mosley (2023 Grant) – Stats: 16 pts, 6 rebounds, 3 steals
Grant’s outside shooting has been off so far in the Les Schwab, so the Generals have turned to Mosley to generate more offense around the bucket. The 6-foot-2 freshman has the physical maturity to back down opposing guards down in the paint and then has the footwork and craftiness to get the bucket underneath. Mosley showed some pretty good athleticism along with his toughness on the defensive end and on the boards.
